Marron and white wine - a meal to remember

We’ve been away for four nights and have had no internet but what a lovely surprise to find we can once again upload photos onto myLot.
We attended a horse endurance ride and took photos of the riders. Our last overnight stop on the way home was at a small farm restaurant which served marron. Marron are Australia’s freshwater crays.
They aren’t served everywhere and are a bit of a delicacy. We had them for lunch with an enjoyable bottle of white wine. As we couldn’t drive after drinking, we stayed the night in the carpark of the restaurant. We had organised it with the restaurant owner first. She even let us hook up to the power and left the toilets open for us although we do have a toilet in the caravan.
Edit: I forgot to add this part: The collage shows part of the outdoor dining area. The tables and benches are made from recycled pallets. There was the most beautiful orchid in the corner of the dining area and, in the garden, various ornaments including this pink and grey galah.

Sounds like fun. I have never eaten crayfish .doesn't seem like their would be much meat on them. Crabs are bad enough in that regard

@JudyEv That is why I like King Crab legs. Easy to get the meat, and alot of it. They are expensive though .and not that easy to find.

The benches are okay with cushions but would be a bit hard otherwise.

Marrons are large chestnuts here, almost everywhere in this season we have open air chestnuts cookout fairs. I have looked at the photos of your Marron crays and they look delicious.
I am so glad we can see the photos now, loved outdoor dining area.
