A ride on a mule

While on a holiday in Kashmir we got the opportunity to ride on a mule to reach a spot that was at a height. The sure footed mule maneuvered the narrow strips without a fault - not an easy task. No doubt we were not sure whether we would reach up there safely but the mule took on the responsibility and we were up there to enjoy the view around. Getting back was equally tough but not for the mule. It was a difficult terrain. Have you ridden on a mule? Image credit:

No, I don’t think I ever have, just a regular horse. It looks like a good time though.

I've ridden horses but not a donkey or mule. That looks like it could be scary fun.

@sallypup Days are over for me to travel now and yes the ride was painful but the joy of getting up there made us forget our pain

@allknowing Staying up on a mule or a horse takes good leg muscles and an ability to balance. I miss being able to ride a horse but those days are over for me.

Riding on a mule is not as enjoyable as riding on a horse as it was more to reach a terrain that was high and the ride was indeed tiring but the enthusiasm to get there made us forget what we were going through but sitting for hours was painful.

I have never ridden on a mule, I did ride a horse once. I am scared of heights so once I got on the horse it seemed so high up to me and then the horse moved and the first thing I said was It moves! After that the guide led us on a trail and was was all right and me and the horse became friends,

Yes, I have a long time back. I must be around 10 years old and had gone to Vaishnodevi temple with my whole family. I was too young to walk that distance with altitude. My grandparents also took a mule ride.

The ride we had was on narrow paths and the mule had to be slow to manage as running was just not possible

I see one mule, the others look like horses. I have only ridden horses, but my sister once went on a mule ride down the Grand Canyon. I might do that, but I would have to think about it. I was on a trail ride once near the mountains and it was very steep. I was panicked my horse was gonna lose its footing and send me tumbling. Needless anxiety though.

I prefer a good mule over a horse, especially on rough terrain
