We're building a cupboard today

The photo has nothing to do with the discussion but is a collage from the latest endurance ride for those who like to see photos of the horses. Yesterday, we constructed an Ikea cupboard to go in the laundry. Today, we have to make the second one which will go alongside. Although we’ve been living in this retirement village for a bit over two years, we’re still getting organised in some areas. The instructions were mostly very clear but it’s always a bit tricky. Now we’ve done one, hopefully the next will go together a bit quicker and easier. I’m hoping to remember to take a photo of the box as a ‘before’ photo. Taking one of the finished cupboards as an ‘after’ won’t be so difficult.

My Dad use to love to shop at Ikea. I am sure the new cupboards will help keep things neat and in their place. Love the photos

I always like to see nice horses, even if the photo has nothing to do with the discussion. I also bought IKEA cupboards for the laundry, I bought years ago and those are still very good. I hope you will post a photo of th e"before and after".

@JudyEv I am going to check. All IKEA packs are FLAT and their instructions not always too good to decipher.

I forgot to take a 'before' photo but it just would have been a flat pack. I've now posted an 'after' one.

I remember when I first moved here 26 years ago just how long it took to finally get totally moved in. Of course working 8 hours or more on weekdays didn't help the situation much.

@rebelann Thankfully we were retired when we first moved here which was quite a help. We just had a bit too much stuff.

When you first move, you tend to put things wherever they'll fit. But now I'm going through some storage places again and arranging things in a better way.

We didn't make them from scratch although we have done that before. We bought them as flatpacks and had to put them together.

I have never purchased anything from Ikea. We don't have one near me, and I have never looked online. I would like to go to one of their stores sometime. The horses are so beautiful!

We find the shop amazing as it's so 'European' with lots of innovative ideas and storage/furniture/fittings that you don't see in any of our other stores.

I have heard of Ikea as being good with their stuff. Yes assembling will take time.

Once it's assembled, the items are very stable and look good. That's been our experience anyway.

I love shopping at Ikea. But usually request assembly service because I do not want to bother my brothers to help.
