When I retired, I didn't realize it really meant I'd be re-tired

When I retired from teaching, I knew it would mean plenty of time to write. I also thought it would mean plenty of time to relax. Somehow, I hadn't planned on working 8 to 10 hours a day writing, networking, promoting, and marketing my writing.
I am, though, most days, doing just that. I don't have to. I want to. Working for myself is so much better than working for someone else. Even if my last boss was awesome and, if she asked, I'd go back to work for her in a heartbeat.
The chances of that are very slim. She's retired now, too.
I am now a contributing writer for three online publications under the Medium.com umbrella. Currently, I am publishing installments of a web novel on one of them. This will be a long-term project as each installment is to be about 1,000 words and the draft is 41K+ words long.
And, on top of what I've got going on at Medium, I plan to do NaNoWriMo again this year. More on that in a future post.
What are you doing to keep busy these days?

I understand what you mean, Now that I am no longer working it seems the days pass so quickly and I never get a moment to myself.

I have retired after a very long bout of covid. The transitioning back meant learning how to walk again and weening off of oxygen. Now that I am a year out after retiring I am starting to miss all those little conversations you have in the workplace. The days are pretty fast and I don't get much done. It seems like energy levels go in spurts. I wish you success with your writing. I have a dream of having my poems printed in book form so maybe now is the time!

Doing the household chores and mylotting is more than enough for me. I had cancer years ago and underwent chemotherapy. It worked. I´m here. Cancer is on complete remission. But I have a big list of side effects that might be due to chemo and to my age. Who knows? But part of what I have to do every day now is to take a nap after lunch.

@DWDavis I do hope that I won´t stay alive as long as my aunt Ilse who is 100. There is a moment where we live and another time when we only survive.

I should be writing...I have plenty of time...but I seem to write here instead. I have notebooks of unfinished stories and novels. I should be working on those! Have a good afternoon.
