WHAT WOULD U DO IF U FOUND OUT THAT YOUR SON RAPED SOMEONE?

As much as you love your son you would still have to turn him in... it is unethical to let that go on without intervening. Plus if he is doing that then he needs to be put in jail to smack some sense into him. It takes a sick person to hurt another human like that.

i do not think my son would be that desperate.

I would definitely turn him in. There's no way that I would try to "sweep it under the rug" and deal with it on my own. He's breaking the law, plain and simple. Not to mention he's hurting another human being, which is just sick. I would most definitely want him to get counseling, too, but counseling alone isn't enough if you're raping someone.

I would definitly turn him in, Just because its your son doesn't mean you let them do those kinds of things. Someone who can do those kinds of things needs lots of help. Someone has to turn him in if they don't and they know what hes doing they are just as guilty as he is.

well that would be a hard desicion to make. I have sons and as horrible as something like that is-- I know my sons like the back of my hand, and I wouldnt want to see them in jail either. How would i know that what this girl is saying is true? Are there DNA tests to prove my son did this? ugh i would have to be 100% sure that my son did it and then I would give him the option to turn himself in or I would turn him in so he could get some help because that is just wrong.

I would turn his butt in. I would still love him but, wrong is wrong. It would devaste me if he was raping his sister, friend, homeless, rock, dog, anyone that was not a willing participater.

If I found out that someone in my family had raped someone I would turn him or her in...but it would take the victim to press charges. I have a cousin that was found guilty of raping someone...I have no mercy for him....because he abused and sexually assaulted someone...Im just so thankfull that it wasn't someone in the family that he did it to! My dad is on his side and says "other people get away with it" did I mention that he was a cop(off duty when he committed the crime). Well anyway he should be the one setting an example...If that person hadn't turned him in then he would still be going around raping other women or children for all we know! I would turn anyone in in a heartbeat! Why risk having more women get harmed!? it could be your sister next time or your neice or your own daughter!

Rape is so wrong no matter who the rapist or the victim is. If it were my son YES, I would turn him in. He would probably hate me for it but, that doesn't matter as long as I know he wouldn't be able to do this terrible thing to anyone else.

I would so turn him in.. if it gets out another way and authorities find out that you knew and did nothing about it.... you are just as guilty.. and if you dont do anything ... how can you be so certain it's not continuing?... Im really hoping this is a hypothetical situation and not something is really happening in your family or anyone elses for that matter. although I know it does..

from reading the other responses I gathered that you didn't have kids and this happened to a friend of yours. I think your friend should have turned in her half brother. Because once he found out he could get away with doing this to her he would keep repeating it again and again until she does something about it if it isn't to late. That is a hard thing to do to a loved one but something needs to be done so no more damage can be done. What if he starts messing with the other kids in the family or even her cousins and friends.. I think he may need help. He needs to be supervised around kids from now on until he gets some help. because if he does get away with it now he will think he can get away with it also in society and then he would go to prison and bad things happen in prison. please tell your friend to get him help. my best regards and good day.
