Just call me shaky hand

So, I just came in from cutting hedges and some tall grass during the half time. I guess I was using my hands and arms more than usual. When I came in I was doing some putering and my hand was shaking. I was like oh groovy, don't tell me I am getting Parkinson or MS or something. That would be all I need. Anyway, it has calmed down now. I guess I was using those muscles more than usual. It was kind of scary though..Normally I am very calm and so are my nerves and muscles.

@Juliaacv and I have my two cats who are getting very muscular particularly Freddie, I could use him to grow some biceps with a few lifts each day

I'm glad you're doing okay now. I can see how your hands/arms shaking like that could be annoying.

Well it was alittle scary, as well as annoying I am never really shaky so it was disconcerting.

@snowy22315 I understand. My hands have always had a tremor, even when I was still in school.

Some meds can cause that, but I have done it since my thirties. One of my doctors said, "no it is not Parkinsonian tremors, it is 'benign intentional tremor'" meaning that when I am intending to do something my hand tremors in response, like if I try to pick something up. It is happening more now as I age. I do not like it. My sister did that when taking certain anti depressants.

It hasn't happened to me before, but I was thinking it was partly due to age as well, and the fact I don't often use hedge clippers.

Is there a med or supplement you could take to prevent it?

It was most likely from the yard work. Moving forward, if it every happens again, try not to was any glass dishes; just in case.

I am glad it was just a passing weakness. My husband had Parkinson's and it is a scary thing. He never had the shaking though.

@snowy22315 It is a horrible disease. At the end my husband's internal thermometer broke and his internal temperature would go into hypothermia. I spent 6 months trying to keep him warm.

In that situation a bit of physio therapy would help

It sounds like it. I really wasn't out there that long, but then again, I don't usually do heavy duty cutting.

@LadyDuck I have some of that around. I didn't know it would actually clean them. I only use it if something is stuck.

Yes, using those muscles will cause your hands to shake. I'm glad you're all better. Have a good week.

It sounds like you had a busy time cutting the hedges and grass. Your hands shaking when you came inside might be because you used your muscles more than usual. Even though it might have felt scary, it's good to know that the shaking has stopped.
