((Wearing High Heels)) completely alters the way the foot functions, and not in a good way. It upsets the entire body’s mechanics.
----------------Caroline McCartney, President Of The U.K.’s Institute Of Chiropodists And Podiatrists
If high heels are on their way out as a fashion staple for women, as this article suggests, "Why Women Applaud and Men Mourn the Downfall of High Heels ((Linked Below))," I guess I'm in the minority of men, because I will not miss them at all.
I've never been all that interested in shoes in the first place. Way more important than that, in the second place that is the real first place, I would much rather see women wearing shoes that don't shorten the calf muscle, damage tendons, inflame the foot’s soft tissues, stress the spine, weaken the ankles, create hammer toes and ruin nails.
None of this information is new. People have been talking about it for decades. My take on it has always been that sadomasochism is fun. As long as everyone consents and it's just about fun and doesn't cause any real injuries or needless discomfort. And high heels seem to achieve the opposite effect.
I am far from opposed to super sexy clothes. I really enjoy seeing them but I find women in common, ordinary and less expensive clothes and underthings just as exciting and interesting.
But even if I were turned on by seeing them in shoes that upset normal body mechanics, I would find it difficult to enjoy it. As it is, I'm kind of lucky because I don't really notice shoes much at all.
But I will be happy if high heels are really going away.

Are they professional attire? Confidence boosters? Mating tools? Opinions vary, but one thing's certain: high heels are losing ground.

It does seem that way. They're everywhere and they've been here forever. But do women really like them? They sound painful to me and maybe they will finally go away.

@paigea Well, they might stop making new ones if the demand drops low enough but there are already millions of pairs out there, so they will always be available for anyone who wants them.

@xander6464 I don't know why they like them but they do!
