Deputies of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) located a missing female tortoise that went missing in Florida about 3 and a half years ago. The deputies of the PCSO found a sulcata tortoise who was located in Interlachen Florida on Sunday. The deputies of the PCSO brought in the female tortoise to the employees of the not for profit group Florida's Wildest Animal Rescue after the tortoise was rescued five miles away from her home. Thanks to the messages from the refuge informing the owners of the tortoise that the animal was found safe and sound, many messages from concerned owners of the missing animal did respond to report that the animal went missing from her home in April 2020. The owners of the animal did reunite with the animal the same day. The owners of the turtle are very grateful that they did reunite with their pet who is in good condition. I'm so glad the tortoise was in good condition, especially after being on its own for so long.

Aww that is amazing! People think those tortoises move slowly, but if they want to escape they can absolutely book it!

SURELY we all know that this turtle was only 10 feet from the owner's location and it SLOWLY took 3 1/2 years to get back.

I was thinking too that it took 3 and a half years to go those 5 miles. I hope it managed to feed itself in that marathon trek for it. A good ending, and let's hope the turtle does not escape again.
