Update on Member @PaintsOnSlate (21857) / myLot

I don't how many of your remember our dear member Marilyn from Canada who had such wonderful camping adventures with her sister and often wrote about babysitting her daughter's dog . She and I met several times for lunch in Florida where she visited every year. I also met with her for a great meal in Niagara on the Lake in Canada when we were there a few years ago. Anyway, we are Facebook friends and I haven't heard anything from her for a while. Her daughter let all her friends know that she has Alzheimer's and doesn't know anyone but is happy. The last time we had lunch in Florida she was worried about her memory and we talked about it. I didn't realize it would be the last time I saw her. I wrote about our lunches on here, I's sure they are still on here. If you are a person who prays, remember her and her family in your prayers or just give her a thought. She was a lovely woman and such a wonderful crafter, I bought one of her slates when I was in Canada.

I do remember her. That makes me feel sick, but you said the news is that she’s happy, and considering everything, that is the most important thing.

I remember her very well. How sad that she has Alzheimer's, but it's a good thing if she is at least happy. I remember you posted a photo here when you met years ago.

@rebelann I know Anne. My husband suffers of short term memory loss, it's a lot harder for me.

I feel so sorry for her family, I remember how easy it is to become depressed when they no longer know who you are.

Yes it has been getting progressively worse. She was just the nicest person, we had some wonderful talks.

She created many beautiful things and lovely memories, both with her slate and with quilting. I am glad she is happy. That is one thing my dad said often in his battle with Alzheimer's. . . he may have forgotten a lot but he was happy. Thank you so much for sharing. I thought of her the other day.

I have often wondered about her and if she was okay. This is sad news indeed. I remember the wonderful work she did as she'd put up photos of some of her creations. Thanks for letting us know.

At first I thought you were talking about someone else, but I now remember this person. I'm glad you were able to meet her and said that she had that illness. My sister who is slightly younger than me was diagnosed with that also last year. She still drives her car although we, her siblings, don't think she should be. But she lives in Detroit and we live north of her two hours. We did get her a place to live near another sister and will move her up here in May.
