What do you think about the Shutterstock website or application that makes money by selling photos? Is it profitable? In my opinion, this site is quite good. Those of us who like taking photos of the environment and can generate income can try it, but it takes quite a lot of time for us to post the photos. What do you think about the Shutterstock site/web?

I have tried Shutterstock. I think I have three photos on there but I gave up with it. They are so picky about what you can and can't share. You can't put pictures of public spaces unless you have permission from the building owners. They wouldn't accept any of my train station pictures because they wanted proof I had permission from the building owner. They even stated the same rule when I tried to upload a picture that happened to include a random sign. You have to be really careful with what's in your picture.
Apart from that, I know some professional photographers who have had their perfectly good work turned down. We have wondered what exactly it is that you can post and what they want. It just seems to picky and too much effort to get it right.
Of the photos I have and those I know other people have, nobody has made a penny from the site. If I'm not earning from the photos anyway, I'd rather share them on Flickr or other sites where they'll be appreciated and don't need to meet impossible criteria.

I do agree upto some extent on this. Their criteria are too tough.
