Riding Off Into the Sunset Together?

I have shared that my grandpa is getting close....down to days. At this point I am not sure how long he has really.
But I guess my grandma has really made a turn for the worse. Her oxygen level while being on oxygen is not going above 81.
My uncle has written in a message that he showed to me ( well not sure who wrote out that part) that she may get her wish for them to ride off together in the sunset.
She would always say that after they both got sick back in 2020.
They are both in their beds on lorazepam, not sure about morphine at the time.
All I know is I may be losing them both very soon....
Well that's my most recent update

I am very sorry they are both failing so quickly. So hard to part with one of them, let alone two. Such a hard time for your whole family.

We know her health was not so good...but didn't expect this drastic change. She's still breathing but not really responsive. Losing them both though is very hard...but it's best for him and it's what she wants

@MarieCoyle Well she's wanted them both to just be done with it all after they both got so sick. She seemed to get somewhat better for a while, but that didn't last too long. She is just tired and done fighting.
But wasn't expecting to go over and things be how they were today. I don't know how to comprehend it...

It may be that since she knows he is on his last days; she has given up as well. They have been together for many years, maybe she just doesn't want to go on without him? I have no way of knowing, of course, I have heard of this happening, that one is terminal and the other follows. I am sorry she isn't responsive. I know it is extremely hard. Losing loved ones is so, so hard.

Oh man, Courtney. I know it hurts for you and your family, but it might be best for them not to have to miss each other. It makes me teary to say, but having them walk into Heaven together would amazing. For them. I don’t want to minimize the pain this would cause the rest of you. Bless your whole family.

Just thought she'd have longer time. We were preparing to lose him but not her. So it's even worse...
Thanks for the kind thoughts

@AmbiePam I honestly can't either. I guess she fell this morning and is just really going downhill fast. She's in pain for sure.
My grandpa's organs are starting to fail so we know it's really soon for him
Just feeling numb at the moment

Losing one is hard enough...but knowing we'll lose both? That's very hard to even comprehend

@MommyOfEli2013 I do feel we get tired after so long. Hope they can both be comfortable

@wolfgirl569 That is understandable, but it still is very sad. He seems comfortable, she seems to be in pain when she moves around or breathes deep

For her sake I hope so too.... though we can't imagine life without either of them. Really hard to watch them both going. She has said for a while she wished it was all over.

@LindaOHio it's really a shock that my grandma passed away too... Friday she was with us and eating and seemed ok. We were not expecting it so soon

They passed away this morning, 30 minutes apart. It is very tough....but at least they don't have to suffer or be apart

If they do go together, that's better than one having to go on here without the other. Also, at least they'll both be at peace, as far as us left behind, we'll hold each other closer and deal the best we can.

@jnrdutton I didn't think she'd make it a few more years, but maybe through the end of the year or maybe a bit longer. She kept saying she just wanted to be done, and that she couldn't do it anymore, and she's said that for a while..

Well I can agree with that. I knew she might have not lasted a whole lot longer, but didn't expect to go today and see her on her way out...

@MommyOfEli2013 I thought she'd be with us a while longer,a few more years, but I think she really just wants to be with him, that NOT being with him after they built a home and Love and life together all these years would be harder on her than she could take.

My thoughts are with you Courtney. It's a difficult time right now, I'm sure.
Nice to see you again. It's been a while.

Well, with my beliefs I could say that then they will both enter Heaven together and it will be a comfort to them both to be together in eternity, Virtual hugs to you and many blessings,

That makes sense, at least the comfort in them going together and neither one having to be alone.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm torn between hoping they do get to ride out into the sunset together and wishing they'd spare you the heartache of losing them both at once.
