It's Halloween folks, and that's a time for all the ghoulies and ghosties to make their appearances for at least one day out of the year and actually have them be welcome. I shared a short story yesterday for just this occasion. And so far so did our friend Valerie Routhieaux (which I am preparing to read). Now, while I don't have any real "Halloween" original music, I guess this one, which I am sure I have shared here before, fits well enough. "102 Idle Stones," which I wrote and recorded in January of 2005. Man, hard to believe that was 18 years ago. Got a story or a spooky picture or even a spooky song that comes to mind. Today might be the perfect day to share it. Happy Halloween y'all!

I was going through my movies to find something scary to watch this evening and I found nothing I really want to watch. Now I am going to YouTube and download something.

@porwest Isn't "Misery" about a writer trapped by a sadistic woman? I think I remember it from long ago and far away.

Trying to think of a good flick to watch for Halloween. Hmm. Misery is a good one if you haven't seen it. But it's not really a Halloween movie. But it's REALLY good and might give you the creeps a bit.

@akalinus Yep. That's the one. Based on the book by Stephen King. Really good movie. Great book too.

On Halloween I watched Pet Sematary Bloodlines and watched a scary show called Feria: Darkness Light (on Netflix).

Scary movies are always fun. Horror has always been my favorite genre. I don't like the slash-o-matics. But real horror is fun.

Great tune. Do you get any trick or treaters? We never get any. Enjoy your evening.

@porwest Our houses are far apart. The kids go to the developments.

@LindaOHio I guess ours would be a "development." I can touch my neighbor's house from my garbage cans on the side of my house. lol

Trick or treaters are few and far between for us, and so we don't hand out candy. We tried it one year and had enough candy for about 150 kids and wound up with maybe 10 or so. Not ever doing that again. I think part of it is that our block butts up to a main thoroughfare and so they just don't come this way.

We just sat in the house with the lights off and the curtains drawn so the kiddos would know there's no candy here for them. lol

Wow Halloween sounds really interesting. I really want to feel the Halloween atmosphere but in my area there is no such thing as Halloween. Is the Halloween atmosphere the same as when you enter a haunted house where inside the haunted house there are also people wearing scary ghost costumes? It will definitely be very exciting on Halloween, right?

Halloween in America takes on many forms, from kids dressing up in costumes going door to door asking for candy, to adult costumed parties with lots of booze and spooky themes, to decorating your yard and house with spookiness. It's really a fun holiday actually. It wasn't the big business back in the day it is now. But it's really taken on a life of its own.

No spooky stories or pictures to share and the only song that pops into my head is Monster Mash

I could be wrong but I believe it had to do with a Celtic holiday called Samhain.
