Tuesday & Halloween Update

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Been a somewhat busy day here again. My cousin came up with her dad today, and we looked through all of my grandparent's photos to find pictures of them together and separately to use for their service. We found quite a lot, so going to use the extras to make a photo album sort of thing - but laid out so people don't have to go looking through a book. Later on, after Eli got out of school for the day we took him trunk-or-treating. My town puts on a pretty big event in the town square park with food trucks, candy canons, cake walks, etc... Eli doesn't like the candy canons though, because all the other kids are so quick and greedy. So after looking around there, we took him to one at a church. He did pretty good there with the candy stash. We are getting worried about his cough - he doesn't have any other cold symptoms but his cough is not going away and it gets really bad especially at night. There is an illness where the cough could last up to 3 months. Oh my, I hope not! I will share some photos of Eli in his costume soon, but for tonight sharing my grandparent's wedding photo. I shared some photos of when they were older, but here they were 17 and 21 years old I believe.

Memories are always beautiful. Today, I also organized my electronic photo album. I will create a folder for photos and write the folder name in the form of the date and location of the photo.

They married very young. Beautiful picture of them. I'm glad Eli had fun at the trunk-or-treat.

Their birthdays didn't happen yet so actually he was 20 and she was 16. So indeed very young. He wished he could have got more candy but he seemed to have fun

@MommyOfEli2013 They were young when they married. I'm glad he had fun.

@just4him Well I think it is because they were with child at the time because they were married in January and my uncle was born in October. Maybe my math is off, I just know the timing was pretty close

I missed a lot, and I am so sorry for your loss. Is there anything I can do? I've had coughs linger after being sick. Have you made him an appointment? Where are the parents when these kids are acting greedy? I'm really sorry they do that, but I hope he enjoyed the Trunk or Treat at the church.

Thank you, it is just so shocking to lose them both at the same time. We knew my grandpa only had a few weeks, down to days at that point...but we didn't know my grandma was going to go too. Just having someone to talk to is nice, I really don't know anything else. Sorry you have had coughs that linger, I guess I have too...but for him he seemed to have got over a cold then a couple weeks later just started coughing. But maybe it wasn't weeks - time blurred together the past month or so. I never really paid attention to the parents, but I know the kids run as fast as they can...and if they see you going for something they don't care, they'll get the candy anyways. Trunk or treat was always better! He still had fun, got lots of candy and 2 free hot dogs lol

I hope he will get better asap too, the cough I am sure is annoying to him....but it frustrates us all as well. Last night he kept having coughing fits...finally he fell asleep after 11 PM. Glad you like the photo, I agree it is

He looks like he's the teenager here! People used to get married so young so often back then. I have a great-aunt who got married at 14. I can't imagine any of my kids being mature enough to handle marriage at that age.

@MommyOfEli2013 They say that kids matured differently back then, but I don't know... I think it would have been hard to be a 14 year old bride back then too.

@spiderdust That's a good point, but still...at 14, or even 16...that seems way too young back then or now!

Yeah he kind of does, he looked young for quite a while going through older photos of them. Oh wow, 14 years old? Yes...I can't imagine them getting married that young, teens anyway....my cousin is 15 now...and he's nowhere mature enough for that!

So very young, but the love lasted a lifetime. A picture to cherish forever. Hopefully, the doctor can find a solution for Eli's cough. It's so exhausting to cough all the time, poor little guy.

Yes they were, I didn't even do the math right, he was 20 and she was 16! But either way very young. Well not sure when he can get to the doc with our crazy schedule. But yeah it is and especially coughing fits like he has at night

@MarieCoyle Well honey hasn't been helping him. Got him a nightime cough medicine and that has seemed to help tonight.

@MommyOfEli2013 Hot tea with some honey helps a lot, honey coats the throat ( maybe warm tea, not too hot, I know he is young). Just a thought.

A great photo of them both. Regarding Eli, yeah that cough is really being stubborn. I feel so bad for him, I hope it passes soon. If not we should take him to Doctor Anderson.
