I Like to TRY to Be Original

From time to time on social media I share memes. But more often than not the writer in me, and the sometimes funny side of me says, "No, Jim. You've got this. You can write your own jokes."
And so I do.
The way I see it, and perhaps this is a dumb way of looking at it, it helps to offer something unique to my own posts and gives someone a reason to stop by my page.
That's not to say that the jokes I write are completely original. But they are definitely off the top of my head when I write them, even if they happen to be sometimes variations of old jokes.
It seems people get a kick out of them.
Do you write your own jokes on social media or create your own memes? Or are you more prone to simply share what you find?

I'm in a creativity hiatus. Can't seem to write much or read much. That's a funny meme. Hope you are having a good day.

@porwest Yeah, but that's not real writing. I have steno books full of stories and beginnings of books that I haven't looked at in years. I just have my children's book in rhyme that I'm trying to get published.

@LindaOHio Ah. Perhaps it's just an oversight on my part, but I didn't know you were a writer. Interesting.

I don't do jokes, not into them. Usually I am not amused.

@porwest Well yes, I do, but I only like MY sense of humor, no one else's.

That joke's funny. I told a woman in a doctor's office recently that hearing your name called was like winning the lottery. But not nearly as much fun.

@1creekgirl I will take a kind of chuckle. So long as vegetables aren't thrown onto the stage, that's a win for me. lol
Unless I need vegetables, of course.

I used to be the king of original jokes, memes and funny situations on Facebook, but that was about 10 years ago. I kinda got burned out on Facebook when I found that I was coming up short in the originality department. I miss those days.

@moffittjc For me social media is mostly meh. But I do like it for networking and marketing. For whatever that's worth. lol

I definitely do not write my own jokes or memes lol. If anything I share something I came across if I feel it's worth sharing.
Sometimes we come up with something and think no one else thought of this first but then we realize someone beat us to it.
I've been wondering this: why does Aldi require a quarter to get a shopping cart but Lidl doesn't? I also wonder how many people don't bother connecting their shopping cart to another one to get the quarter back?

I share things sometimes. But I do prefer it if I can come up with something original or mostly original. Keeps the creative juices flowing, I guess. Plus, it gives my page something unique for people to find that they won't find anywhere else.
Not that it matters the 2 or 3 people who actually see any of it. lol
As for the cart question, not sure why Lidl doesn't do it. Most stores of course don't. I do find many less carts are scattered in Aldi parking lots than say, a Walmart or even the grocery store.

@porwest I never get why people can’t bring the shopping carts back to the store or to those things in the parking lot for carts. Are they too lazy? Or just don’t care? Sometimes they park them where a car should be lol.

@lovebuglena I think it is a little bit of both.
