My Sincerest Apologies!

It seems that I ruffled a few feathers with my constantly complaining about winter and s**w. I know that there's nothing I can do about the cold and that awful white stuff; but I will continue to complain about it as long as I have breath in my body. I hate having to put on a jacket to go outside. I have written "snow" as s**w for 4 or 5 years here; and everyone has thought that it's funny...until this year. I will continue to refer to that awful white crap as s**w. It's a bad, bad word! We are in the s**w belt here in NE Ohio and usually get hammered with the white stuff. Last year was an unusual year. We only had one bad storm...so maybe you won't hear too much complaining this year....Who knows? And to those that will say, "Why don't you just move?", we would love to move to the Florida Keys; but we waited too long. The median price for a house on the Key we are interested in is $500,000!!! So, my sincerest apologies if I offended or just ruffled your feathers. P. S. ALSO, the time change is this weekend; and I hate that as well. I don't like it getting dark at 5 pm. P. P. S. 138 days until spring!!! Photo Credit: Pixabay

I’m sure not big on the time change at all!! It plays havoc with work schedules, bedtimes, and gets dark too early. But still, the powers that be think it’s a good idea. Why? Just think, our forefathers survived for years without time changes!

@MarieCoyle I agree. I like the time the way it is. An extra hour of daylight in the evening.

I think that white stuff is beautiful . . . but I know it's another thing to have to live with it. We don't get that white stuff here (wish I could take it off your hands if even for a day!!).

I feel your pain. We have a weatherman who just changed his cover photo to say “Bring on the Sn*w” (or “BOTS” as he calls it….to me, when he says “bring on the sn*w” I say “boogieing off to Sarasota” ). We’re all different. A lot of people love snow. A lot of people don’t.

@LindaOHio I checked online and the long-range forecast for my area is a "normal" winter with average amount of s**w. I wouldn't mind a light winter, though.

I don't hate snow anymore than I hate rain. It is just another form of precipitation to me. Part of the year it falls in a liquid form and part of the year it is not. I dislike the time change, hopefully one day we will not have to continue to do that. You have not ruffled my feathers, I appreciate everyone's point of view, that is why we are here.

You do know I was teasing. Like I said, I really detest ice storms. I enjoy living where there are seasons. I missed that when I lived in the south and extreme north. We can’t change the weather, so I try to go with it. And while I do very much enjoy my trips to Florida to see my family down there, it’s just too hot!!

@MarieCoyle Yes, I've seen Pleasantville a couple of times. It seems like most people here are facing tough family issues, physical or mental challenges, etc.; and it lifts one's spirits to come here and have so much support from our online friends don't you think?

@LindaOHio Oh, no, you didn't. I just didn't really understand (after over 3 years on mylot, that oversight is on me) that typing snow (forgive me) was a dirty word, LOL! Due to life in general, I have learned to accept the things I cannot change--and I still don't know how to manipulate the weather! Wouldn't that be a neat thing? Did you ever watch the movie Pleasantville? A movie that will make you think, for sure...about fear of changes, being oppressed, and so on...anyway, The weather every day in Pleasantville was 72 degrees, and sunny. It never rained, it never stormed, the wind didn't blow. Every day was the same! I think there are many days when I am down to basics, due to son's illness, some of my own health issues, and life's issues, so I try not to stress a lot about things I can't change. It makes the mountain easier for me to climb! I hope you have a good day, too.

No feathers ruffled on me. If I hadn’t had such a long break from a ton of snow I might not be a big fan either. As much as I love the little that we get here I do remember how much work and what a pain a lot of it can be.

I have mixed feelings about snow these days, it's postcard beautiful, but we too get hammered with it where I'm at, and it can be pretty brutally cold, which is HE double hockey sticks on my muscles at times. I think it's funny that you censor it like a swear word. If we didn't get snow for what seems like half the year, I might like it better, just saying.@LindaOHio
