Language Isn't Necessarily the Problem

I tried to sign in to my insurance website this evening to check how much OTC funds I had available. As usual, I couldn't get logged in. It is frustrating to me. I have had this issue for several years now. I have been a member since 2020 or so. I usually just call them cause I don't want to hassle with it. Tonight I decided to hassle with it. This time I actually got a red notice giving me a number to call for tech support. I hadn't gotten that before. So who should I get on the line but an Indian speaking gentleman? I could understand all but the important words. It reminded me of 16 years ago when I had a Dell laptop and my grandson spilled milk on it. The tech was Indian and I couldn't understand him. I'm sure I was very rude to the poor fellow because I was so frustrated and worried about my damaged computer. So here I was again. And on top of the frustration, he kept talking over me. So our communication was just not happening. My grandson heard my frustrated voice and came up to assist me. We were able to understand that I now had to wait for an hour and then try again. Oh, good lord! I do love my insurance.

I did for a while because those were what I worked on at my job. I figured there had to be a reason why HP used Dell.

@celticeagle HP is another brand that I never buy. The only Hard Disk we had that failed and lost all data was an HP.

I won't buy Dell. They aren't a good brand.

I realize that now. Back then I figured if my job(HP) used Dell then there had to be a reason. I now use HP.

@celticeagle I bet your job used Dell computers because whoever bought for the company got a huge kickback and didn't have to report it.

So many sites these days are like that..it is maddening when you are trying to do something important. Glad your Grandson came to assist as well.

I've talked to many nice Indians in customer service, but I do have a hard time understanding their accent.

They are always nice it is just that I am already upset and nervous, the last thing I need is to have to discern what someone is saying to me. Especially if they are giving me instructions. I was so glad when they started taking over the computer and were no longer trying to instruct me.

I never have to call about my insurance. There’s never a mistake but it’s gotten so expensive I can barely afford the payments so I’m trying to find good insurance that costs less. I doubt I’ll have any luck.

I don't pay anything for mine. I wasn't calling because there was an issue, I was calling to order OTC items with my quarterly allotment.

@RubyHawk ........The only one better is Etna. They may charge a monthly payment. Mine doesn't. Not sure what that is called.

I've always had polite but hard to understand reps. I'm sorry you've had such a hard time. I hope you now have it all straightened out. Have a good day.
