Grace Carpio who is a single mother who lives in the neighborhood of Logan Heights which is in San Diego California is grateful that her five year old daughter alerted Grace as well as her brother and sister that a fire that started in the bedroom closet on Sunday morning October 26. Grace thanks her daughter whose name was not mentioned to leave their apartment quickly and safely without picking up their clothes or anything inside of their apartment which was completely destroyed in 20 minutes. The bittersweet part of this story is that Grace and her children lost everything in the fire. Since she has no insurance, she and her children will have to have assistance from the American Red Cross as Grace and her children are living in the home of her sibling for the time being. The San Diego firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire. Link is msn.com/en-us/oth...

It's such a shame when people have no insurance but insurance can be very expensive.

That is true since Grace admitted that buying insurance would have been harmful for her so she could eat with her relatives.

The most important thing is that they are alive.

@Deepizzaguy That's true. Things can be replaced. Lives can't.

My former cardiologist who lost his home in Hurricane Katrina in 2005 mentioned that he could rebuild his home but not his life had he and his family passed away.

It’s terrible to lose your:home to a fire.it happened to my family when I was a child. It’s sad to lose everything you own.I hope the Red Cross will get this family in a home of their own.

I hope so as well since losing a home by a fire or another disaster is bad news.

I'm glad everyone was safe; but it's a pity that they lost everything.

I know what you mean since losing material items is bad enough even though rebuilding a home and starting over is better than losing a life.

This is sad indeed. So important to have insurance for your home. So glad they're safe and unharmed from the fire.

That is very true that insurance is needed to protect the home.
