Pizza Hut has introduced a snake pizza in Hong Kong, China. The pizza toppings include shredded snake meat, black mushrooms and Chinese dried ham with an abalone sauce. The taste has been described as "fishy"; and the snake meat tastes like chicken. A common belief in traditional Chinese medicine is that snake meat "can boost blood circulation".
130 days until spring.
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Chicken patty sandwich, broccoli, beets (yuck) and pears
Dessert/Snack - Chocolate pudding cake and decaf coffee
Dinner - Chicken tenders and potato salad

@LindaOHio It's no more a pizza, I could say it is a savory pie.

I had a good laugh with friends and discussed if we should try it. Pizza Hut's partner is a century old restaurant which is famous for its snake soup.

@LindaOHio Honestly, I don't fancy such a pizza. If I want to eat snake, I prefer snake soup.

Think I will pass on the snake pizza. I just had beans and weenies and tomato slices, but tonight I am having Palak Paneer...an Indian dish. I have naan. I am looking forward to it.

@LindaOHio I love it. I haven't been for years because there aren't that many around this area...but I am a big fan of Indian restaurants. Nowadays you can find some of the food in supermarkets in the International section.

Yup. But the myths continue on; and animals are slaughtered for their horns, etc.

@LindaOHio I know and just don't understand how people can keep believing things like that.

Yummy for everything you ate but beets!
That chocolate pudding cake sounds divine but I abstain from everything with any amount of caffeine that chocolate has because of my lithium

@LindaOHio I was upset at first as I used to eat a lot of miniature chocolate candy bars. I stopped eating it on March 31 of this year so I am used to no chocolate or any kind of caffeine.
However, I can eat white chocolate as it is made without caffeine! I hope to get some white chocolate for Christmas!

Not surprising! In China everything is possible, imagine oil in the drainage they recycle, turn it into new one and resell it. OMG.. OMG !!!! When I saw it, I felt like vomiting! So unhealthy, unhygienic..

Personally, I would leave that pizza alone. It does not sound even remotely appealing to me, and I'd dare to say it's not pizza anymore than a Hawaiian style one is. lol
For dinner I made an alfredo of sorts. I know, I know, if I ever make something normal... lol. Basically I used some kielbasa and browned it up. Added some onions and red pepper, as well as broccoli. Then in with a can of cream of chicken soup and a little water. Then some evaporated milk. Garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper. Let that mixture simmer for a bit and then added 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese. Simmered a bit more, then added in some cooked penne noodles and served with a little sprinkling of parsley. YUMMY!

Hmmm. I'd have to think about that concoction.....Maybe with chicken instead of kielbasa.

@porwest I like turkey sausage; but I'm not that crazy about kielbasa. That's why I'd prefer chicken with that recipe...or turkey sausage. Have a good weekend.

@LindaOHio Chicken is what you are supposed to use with that recipe. And normally it calls for cream of mushroom instead of cream of chicken. But I hardly ever follow the rules.
But I have made pork alfredo, chicken alfredo, shrimp alfredo...I just use whatever sounds good at the moment or that I have readily available.
This version is sort of what I might call, poor man's alfredo. lol
On top of that, I didn't really make the recipe up. It's from Campbell's and one of their signature recipes.

I never want to eat snake. Probably because they simply terrify me! I've made a lot of different types of pizza here at home, but snake is not and never will be on my pizzas!
If you enjoy seafood, abalone is delicious. It always reminds me of scallops. But then again, I wouldn't want it on pizza!

I ate the other half of my Firehouse turkey sub with baked Lays on the bank of a lake by the capital building in Baton Rouge. For dinner, I had a grilled chicken sandwich and seasoned fries and a view of the Gulf of Mexico. Food was good, views were better.

Snake meat pizza = $24 gimmick. As for the abalone, the devastation and criminality that goes with harvesting that ingredient, should already make anything that contains it, a huge no-no.
