1890 was a Very Good Year

I really thought that the $2 bill was a joke and I got rid of them as soon as I got them. I have been seeing/reading on social media that the $2 bill has made a resurgence and collectors are interested. If you happen to have an uncirculated 1890 $2 bill it could be worth as much as $4500. Can you believe it? For a $2 dollar bill. But, the trick is the age and condition of the bill. Now in 2023, it will depend on the availability of the bills and on the demand from collectors. The United States Treasury still prints these bills. Rarely are they in circulation. A pre-1913 2-dollar bill is very valuable. One could bring as much as $100 to $1000 depending on conditions and the supply and demand.

I have some $2 bills put away but mine aren't that old. Mine were a Christmas gift from a place I worked at when I was 18 years old. They were newly printed at that time.

I'd save any ones I come across that are in good shape, have early dates, and have the right color seals. We don't use much money unless I win the lottery and get a few $$.

I've worked in retail for years and have seen many two dollar bills. But, never have I thought to check the date on them. I doubt that any were that old.

@MarshaMusselman ........Nope. When you have to ask for them at the bank I'd think they weren't in circulation much. We have some old coins. They are pretty worn so not worth anything.

To determine how much your $2 bill is worth, check the year and color of the seal. Red, brown and blue $2 bills dating from 1862 to 1917 can be worth $1,000 to $2,000, according to US Currency Auctions. So nice.

We used to have two-dollar bills, and one-dollar bills, too. Now we have coins, Loonies and Twoonies. There's even talk of replacing the five-dollar bills with coins... I suggest they be called phooeys

I had to convert to my currency and yes in the past it was worth $2 you could buy a piece of land which now is not worth it at all.
