Do you have a special memento?

I have a silver bracelet that has a verse about glorifying the Lord engraved in my mother’s handwriting. We found the verse in her prayer journal (which she was fine with us reading), written around the time she had just been diagnosed with dementia at aged 46. She wrote about her fear of losing her mind, and how she was going to praise the Lord until she couldn’t remember how to.
That really inspired my sister and me, and my BIL had that bracelet made for my sister, and my dad had one made for me. I really treasure that.
Do you guys have a memento of a loved one that sticks out in your mind?

That reminded me that I have two letters my daddy wrote to me when I was about 9 and he was in Europe. Those letters are so special.

When I lived at my parent's house, I was always crafting at the coffee table in my room while kneeling on the floor. It wasn't a big deal - and nothing that I'd ever think my dad would notice or care about. But one day he actually built a little wooden seat for me . . . it was a big WOW that my dad did that for me. My dad has been gone a year now . . . that little wooden seat means more to me than ever and I will be sure to use it while gardening, which was his thing.

I have a picture of my grandparents, taken at a party of some sort years ago. They were both dressed up nice for the occasion and grandma had her hair done. I miss them..also a bread wrapper rug that my grandma crocheted by hand. The silver bracelet sounds like a treasure.

How very special.
I am happy for you that you have that.
My most special momento is actually a ring, which is a very simple band with some small diamonds in it. it was a Christmas gift from my hubby and our son, and according to them both, it was our son who choose it for me. He would only have been around 8 years old that year.
One day one of his girls will wear it I hope.

That is really beautiful. I have a couple pieces of jewelry from my Nana that I hold dear. As well as (and I know this may be odd) an old cardigan sweater of my granddad's that I tend to hug when I'm feeling overwhelmed. I miss them both terribly.

Oh, no, it’s not odd at all! I have one of my late grandpa’s sweaters, and I still look at it every time I go in my closet. I didn’t put it away because it makes me smile. I am sorry that you miss them so much. That means they must have been awesome people.

I kept a sweater of my dad's that is red and grey striped. I always thought it was ugly. It reminds me of what Freddy Krueger wore in the movies

I have a few, a Bible from my father (given to me around 2002),
a knife and a watch from my grandfather Donald.
A blue button down shirt with pearl snaps that used to be my wife's uncle Jack's, another watch from my grandmother Brenda, a flame walking cane that my wife bought me years ago. It's worn and well used, among several other mementos.

@AmbiePam if they all remain in good condition, I intend to pass them all down to Eli. If Courtney and I have any other children that plan might get altered a bit, we'll see.
Each of them is a treasure to me, reminding me always of the people I received them from.

That is really a beautiful memento of your mom especially that it's engraved with your moms handwriting.
I have a gold locket that my grandmother gave to me on my 21st birthday. My grandfather had given it to her and inside are pictures of my grandfather when he was in the Navy and a picture of my dad as a baby. I have treasured that necklace/locket for all these years but I don't wear it as often as I used to.

That's very nice to have, and that it's inspired you..
I can't think of any items at the moment in my life.
