No more Christmas decorations.

For years we have been decorating for Christmas - a crib, a star, lights and a Christmas tree. I will be only concentrating on that party I will be throwing for those kids and that's it. I put all those decorations in a huge bag and will be handing it over to the nun when she arrives with her children at our house. She will be very happy. There is a time in one's life when a decision is taken to call it a day. How about you?

I live alone and although I see my grandchildren often, they rarely visit my apartment. I quit the lavish decorating years ago. I put up my Nativity scene and a hanger on my door and that's about it. With my arthritis it's too painful to put up and take down a tree. Luckily, the people around me decorate quite nicely so I can enjoy their decorations!

We over did it all these years but somehow I have lost interest and the nuns will be happy. I can understand your situation.

Oh, yes, I agree... After I started working at Walmart, they burned me out on decorating for any holiday. I used to decorate the house and yard for every holiday but, after I burned out, I packed up everything and put it all into storage totes and those live in the attic of our garage.

I am with you on this. I do so much for that party and in the end feel that I have had enough

@DaddyEvil Children lose interest and then they will never want to help. I am not tired of party planning but putting up decorations of which I have over done in the past.

@allknowing I'm sure the kids and the older adults will miss your parties. I had fun decorating while Pretty was little up until her mid-teen years but I wanted her to help me after that age. When she didn't want to help anymore, I was done.

We always over did it but that party will more than make up for it. As one ages there is less enthusiasm.

@wolfgirl569 That is true. Those decorations will be at a place where kids will enjoy

Where will you be spending Christmas this time? I will have more than what I have bargained for getting that party ready.

I too decorated the whole house with rangoli during Lakshmi puja and Diwali but that is a past now. I just decorate the puja room.

We cannot have the same tempo no matter what activity as we had in our younger days

I won't decorate. I have three cats and they would eat the Christmas tree.

Sadly cats cannot be disciplined. We had dogs and they just watched us putting up our tree.

With two cats I do not decorate at all. I do have a small Christmas tree and a small manger perhaps this year I will put them on top of a shelf and see what the cats do,

That is a good reason for you not to put up decorations - a great temptation for your cats (lol) Your cats may reach up there!!!

Christmas decor is quite a tradition here. We have Christmas tree already and Christmas lights that already installed and working.

We have over done that for several years Last year we donated our Christmas tree to an Institute and this year we are going to donate all the decorations to the nuns.
