Toes in the Water…

…Butt in the sand.
Actually, I stood, because I didn’t have a clue how I might get up if I sat down!
I found the “shoes” I’m wearing on clearance at Wally World and thought, hey, they’d make good shoes to wear on a beach! So Friday, before lunch, I put them on and walked over to the beach across from my hotel.
According to the pedometer in my phone I walked about two miles along the beach and the boardwalk. While it was overcast, it was nice and warm, so marching out to the water to get the toes sprinkled with Gulf water was no issue.
I certainly had a wonderful week away, and I thank you all for coming along with me!!!

Thanks for taking us along for the ride. It's the closest I am going to get to a real vacation for awhile, I am afriad.
Are you familiar with the shoe brand Chaco? They probably have some shoes up your ally.

I’m sorry. Hopefully you can get this all sorted out by my winter vacation.
No, I haven’t heard of Chaco, but I’ll look them up.

@FourWalls I think Bass Pro sells them, but they have been amazing shoes in the past when I have had them.
I am feeling rough today. And my mouth is hurting, a little swollen and stuff.

@FourWalls That looks perfect for the sand, water, and a boardwalk walk. Probably easy to clean too?

They were comfortable enough so that I didn’t have to run back across the street and change shoes in order to walk down the boardwalk!

@much2say — yes! They had foot washing stations along the beach, and all I had to do was stick my foot under the water and foot AND shoe were cleaned!

@wolfgirl569 — THAT’S the mark of a good friend. “A friend will help you when you fall. A good friend will laugh so hard at you falling that they fall, too.”

I know. You’re a good friend. I might have gotten a little wet waiting for you to get down there, though.

@FourWalls You would have had to wait for me to stop laughing first

Best five bucks I spent that day. (I think it was the ONLY five bucks I spent that day. )
Because of my back problems I don’t have the strength to “kick” and swim anymore. Oh, well, water’s still beautiful to me!

I'd be tripping over those flappy bits... they should at least all flap out on the same side.

The straps are Velcro, so I can get them as tight as need be to keep any “flapping” from happening.

@FourWalls So you can easily cut them if they start to get in the way.

I cannot think of walking on the sand anymore as that will be a load on my legs - my back does not take much of that.
Have a blast. Walking on the sand for two miles is a lot.

@FourWalls Walking in the sand is actually good exercise if one can go through it

I was in physical therapy for the past month, so my legs were a little stronger than normal. I wouldn’t try that again in two months, that’s for certain!

As crowded as beached get these days, plus all the shells and critters, I wouldn’t walk barefoot on the beach anymore.

@FourWalls I prefer to wear beach shoes, too many risks.

It was great. Thanks. I was a little apprehensive, but I figured since they were on close-out they couldn’t be any worse (or more expensive) than a pair of flip-flops. No, they were terrific.

Love the shoes. I wouldn't know how to get up either. They'd have to call the Fire Department. Thanks so much for taking us along on your trip. Have a great day. Hugs.

That’s another good reason to always have my phone with me…”hello, fire department? I’ve fallen and I can’t get up. It’s real. To prove it, send the ugly firefighters.”

We have a weatherman who has a motto of “BOTS,” which means (to him) “Bring On The Snow.” To me, it means “Boogie Off To Sarasota”!
Hope you can hit a beach soon.
