Doctor Who (???)

I had a friend who was into the modern Dr. Who, and recently I discovered the original series (1963) on my ROku TV. Got to admit it's odd, seeing as how acting was in '63, the sound wasn't the greatest, and for me it started out kind of weird: In Episode 1 the "Doctor", his granddaughter, and a couple who don't seem to have any relation to each other land on a planet where everything has been killed by radiation, and there is no explanation as to why they're there or who's who (so to speak) or what. The first season seems to have to do with them on this planet, where they first encounter the Daleks, and a race of human like beings.
Even though I don't get a lot of what goes on (the plots of episodes are sometimes not very "fluid" (a lot of times I wonder why some character did this or that, and I don't get the Doctor's scientific babble a lot) it's interesting enough for me to keep watching. It will likely be more interesting when I get to the more "modern" episodes.

I'm sure they're very different.

@xstitcher The Doctors? Yep. Each one has their own "style," but all of them are zany and quirky.

So true. Like, the big "control panel" thing in the middle of the Tardis in the old show--probably mostly made of cardboard.

I enjoyed watching the original show when I was a child and in my teens.
