Do you believe FOX News when they claim that Trump is not in cognitive decline, but simply crazy? I do not.

We have all read about Donald Trump's recent gaffes. His father, Fred Trump Sr., suffered from dementia in his later years, and Donald seems to be succumbing to a similar fate. But some FOX news "reporters" are typing to claim that he is not slipping into dementia. Rather, they claim, he is merely "crazy," and a victim of conspiracy theories floated about by "entertainment only" folks like Alex Jones. What do you think? Is Trump going "senile"? Is he really crazy? Or is he just, as some claim, going to shoot for an insanity defense in his many court cases?

He's been deemed crazy for a number of decades now. He started that stupid show about bosses or some such nonsense back in the 1990s .... I do think he is a bit touched but he probably was a bit touched even when a boy.

Interesting that he came from a "wealthy" family but did not get the help he needed when he was young.

The uppiddy often don't notice their kids until they're old enough to actually make a mess of things.

@rebelann I think that is what happened with Donald. And what's sad is that he probably noticed it when he was two-years-old. That's why he is fixated at the toddler stage.

Whatever mental malady, personality disorder he has he certainly isn't fit to be President. He doesn't even make sense when he talks, and I heard the other day he thought Obama was President.

@TheHorse I am not against a Christie or even Haley presidency at all In fact of all of them, I would even say Christie is my preferred candidate right now, and I typically won't even vote Republican

@snowy22315 I have usually (but not always) voted Democratic in presidential election. I would consider Christie. And I would read more about what Haley stands for.

Yep. He is struggling. He thinks Obama is President. He confuses N. Korea with China. If I suddenly became Czar of the US, I would defer to an election between Newsom and Cheney or Christie.

I feel bad for anyone who is saddled with a family member with dementia or the person themselves. I think that some of Trump's issue is his age and stamina. And I think he is not really smart. He fudged on college and has no real speech training that I know of. He could very well be in the early stages of dementia and we would never know it. He wouldn't let a doctor let that kind of information get out. And, finally, I don't believe anything Fox News says.

He is a narcissist and a sociopath. Senile dementia? May be he showing the start of a senile decline, he is stressed and this causes mental problems. He is not fit to be President and he is not the only one.

@TheHorse - Absolutely, now that my husband has memory problems, I notice how confused he gets when he is stressed.

I think he is going senile, has always been crazy and also trying for an insanity defense. And I would be satisfied if he were confined to an asylum for the rest of his life.

@TheHorse They're saying that's the same reason he wouldn't accept a plea deal in any of his criminal cases. Not that he would get offered one except maybe for home confinement rather than prison with the stipulation that he never run for any office again.

I think he is too "proud" for an insanity defense. Except as a last resort.

@xander6464 I would be OK with that. Perhaps he could golf his golden years away and not be a threat to America. Republicans who supported him would have to scramble to "redefine" themselves. The only problem for Republicans right now is that Biden has been able to reverse the rise in inflation caused in part by Trump's mishandling of Covid and subsequent supply chain issues, unemployment is at a multi-year low, the stock market is at an all-time high, and drilling for oil on American soil is near or at an all-time high.

I disagreed with those who thought Trump was suffering from dementia until a few months ago. I watched older interviews. He was never very articulate. Nor was he able (or willing) to answer questions intelligently.

In your professional opinion, do you think there are symptoms of? Schizophrenia? God complex? Saying he has dementia is a disparity to those who do have Alzheimers.

Schizophrenia? No. God complex is not a psychological diagnosis. Narcissistic Personality Disorder? Yes. Sociiopathy? Probably. Dyslexia? That my hypothesis, but I do not have enough data to verify it. Cognitive decline? I think so but not really until the last couple of years or so. Stress could be a factor.

Well, I'm not sure he would be any more or less crazy, senile, or just insane than Biden. In my opinion there should be an age limit on the president just like you have to be old enough to be president there should be a limit to how old you can be. Not to mention there should be term limits on all of congress. No more skating by for years, get some fresh blood in there.

I agree that we need some fresh blood in there. But how are Republicans going to deal with the facts that Biden (along with his less-old advisors, I'm sure) has quietly lowered inflation, lowered unemployment, and increased domestic oil production, causing gas prices to plummet? And that the stock market is at an all-time high?
