Lots of snow, no wind

For fun, I went out to measure what ended up in our yard. I could see where some animal, likely a dog, cut through after the snow stopped.
Honestly I thought there was more snow, but I measured six and a half inches.
Other places nearby measured more, some up to 14 inches.
It is not windy, this is not drifted. I wish they would cancel school tomorrow but I imagine the roads will be clear.

We started two hours late, so we were not starting in the dark. A lot of our students ride rural buses.

They lay down brine before the storms move in and then they do a good job clearing roads. I live just off a major trucking route.

It's been snowing off and on here today. Not a lot, at least not yet. Time will tell. I hope they get your roads cleared soon.

They did a good job with the highways and the city road crews, plus our janitorial and maintenance people made sure we could get into the school.

Ours did not last, it melted.
Awhile ago, it was sleeting and trying to spit snow, but it's stopped for thee present. Thursday it's supposed to be 54 degrees! Weird weather!

If the predictions are right we are in for a rough winter and it is just starting. I think they wanted to save up the snow days.
