I am so cold

and angry. I called maintenance at 9:50 am because I have no heat. It is now almost 3 pm and after 3 messages no one has even called me back. I am so cold, I missed doing pasta with the family, and these creeps haven't bothered to come fix the heat. This is insanity. A FB friend who was a property manager here in NJ said that legally they have 24 hours to respond. I don't even understand how that is a thing when it is so cold out.

What happened with the pasta event? Sorry, you are so cold. My apartment here has no heating whatsoever and I have to get by with a heater, Luckily the apartment is small and the one area I have the heater heats up well, I hope you get your heating problems resolved,

Does your thermostat run on a battery? If so, can you change it out to see if that is the problem? The only reason I am asking is once that happened to me and it worked when I changed the battery. But now this one is hard wired with a battery back up, so I tend to not think about the battery life now. Just a thought here.
All landlords everywhere around me have huge ''lack of a maintenance person'' issues and have had for months. It's very frustrating. I hope you can keep warm!!

Oh, darn. I was hoping that was the problem.
Hey, maybe try leaving a message saying if you don't have heat, you are going to a hotel and they can pay the bill for that. Then, take it off your rent if they don't. My neighbor did that once. His landlord was pissed. But he didn't want to get reported to the county tenant's rights association, so he shut up and paid it.

Very disappointing that you missed the pasta even. I wonder if a lot of people are having that problem with their heat.

Its a bad time because of holidays is all I can think of. They will come money speaks louder than days off to most people. I hope they fix it soon that sounds like it could be a bad situation if gets below freezing.

I know how you feel..been there, done that..remember no heat in the last place and it was 10 below zero..I thought I was going to die for real. I am so sorry this has happened
