Hello again, everyone. I am interested in finding new music to check out and review. I welcome any suggestions, especially from those who are really up on music. I'm thinking particularly of people like @FourWalls. Thanks to any and all in advance. You all can expect some music commentary in the coming days here.

Wow, thanks! I’m really not up on new music. Of course, if it’s 100 years old and I’ve never heard it before, then it’s new to me, right? Additionally, music is a matter of personal taste. Someone from Scotland might tell you to try the haggis and the thought might make you sick. Music is pretty much the same. I grew up steeped deeply in old country music (as in, the first celebrity I ever met was Roy Acuff, when I was eight). If you peruse my discussions (most of them are about music, even some of the travel ones! I went to Elvis’ birthplace last month!) you’ll get a feel for what I like. It’s weird (the Carter Family, Was (Not Was), the Violent Femmes, and Marvin Gaye?!?!!!) but it’s me. Another suggestion I would make is to go to the websites for the Rock and Roll and Country Music Halls of Fame and listen to the inductees. Best of luck in your endeavors. I’m looking forward to reading about the results. And thanks again for thinking of me!

Some good and for many, obscure, bands I like are Kurt Vile, These White Pigeons, Deerhunter, Julia A. Noack, Broken Social Scene...just to name a few.

@jnrdutton They may not be your cup of tea. Definitely "off the beaten path." But I appreciate music not "in the mainstream," as they say.

I’m really only up on country music so I’m probably not the best source.

@jnrdutton Country is my favorite. I like classic to current, but I don’t even know if I have a favorite. While Jason Aldean’s voice is so so, his songs make me turn up the volume, and say, yeah, that’s right. A Garth Brooks tune makes me lean back and smile, but when Miranda Lambert gears up for “Gunpowder and Lead”, I punch the air, and firmly nod my head like, you tell ‘em sister.

We have Radio FM where which play the top 30 songs - Hindi,English as part of 3 hours show. So I usually have my Radio On. At night they play old music - so this way I get variety of exposure. But I am not sure if you guys have such Radio stations which play it still now. Do you have a Radio Station which still exists ? Which ever I like I will note down that song and add it into my playlist on Amazon music.

I like mainly 60s and 70s music and some 80s. That's what I would recommend!! Have a good day.
