1) "Funny Girl"--Prime Amazon--movie--2 hours and 29 minutes--The story of Fanny Brice--her rise to fame--her tumultuous love affair with Nicky Arnstein--I first saw Streisand in this role on Broadway in 1964 for my 7th Leap Year birthday--then in 1968 for my 8th Leap Year birthday it opened as a movie--since then I have seen bits and pieces now and then--last night I watched it from beginning to end and it was as if I was seeing it for the first time--WOW! It was as if seeing for the first time--all of Streisand's talent is right up there on the screen! 2) "Oklahoma"--Prime Amazon--movie version of the stage presentation with Hugh Jackman--3 hours and 12 minutes--in front of a live audience, who only 'participate' at end of act 1 and curtain calls--Jackman is dynamite and is Curly from the get-go--A MUST SEE PERFORMANCE! 3) "Chicago"--Prime Amazon--movie--1 hour & 53 minutes--the 1975 stage musical brought up to finger snapping, outstanding cast, winner of 6 Oscars including, deservedly, Best Movie of the Year--the cast, including a cameo by Chita Rivera, from the original cast, are all A-1 top performers giving their best REPRESENTING HOLLYWOOD MUSICALS AT THEIR BEST. 4) "The Crown"--Netflix--Series--season 6--part 1 of the final season--4 episodes--3 hours & 18 minutes--by now you will either never miss a moment of 6 seasons or you are anti-royalty--the first half of season 6 takes us to the death of Diana and the introduction of Kate Middleton--the conclusion to the series will start December 1 and I will be watching it! 5) "NYAD"--Netflix--a movie based on a true story--2 hours--a 60-year-old woman becomes obsessed with completing a 110 mile swim from Cuba to Florida--Anette Bening and Jodie Foster give powerful performances and make a true story believable--the ladies are at their peak and must be seen. 6) "Rustin"--Netflix--movie--documentary--1 hour & 46 minutes-- A crucial civil rights activist gets his due--Bayard Rustin faces racism and homophobia as he helps change the course of civil rights-- He could no more hide his being Gay than he could hide being Black and the screenplay doesn't hide from either subject! I am embarrassed to say I never heard of this man before and I am so glad this well-acted/produced/ directed picture introduces me to him! 7) "Change Up"--Netflix--movie--1 hour & 52 minutes--David, a married man with 3 kids and Mitch a single man in his sexual prime switch bodies--I was expecting an old fashioned movie done many times before and it was just that until halfway through and then it grabbed me--it's a little raunchy and the 2 male leads lose it now and then but it is a really an enjoyable movie worth seeing! 8) "Nuovo Olimpo"--Netflix--movie--1 hour & 51 minutes--2 men meet and fall in love in the late 1970s in Rome only to be separated unexpectedly--a love story is a love story and not all end the way you want it to--this doesn't unless the end credits give you the opportunity for another movie with that ending you want--an excellent movie with a 'different' take!

I love the old musicals too. The 60s and 70s were prime time for them. Thanks you for the reviews and critiques. Have a great weekend.
