A field of dandelions

Looking at this image it confuses me as to why there should be a field of dandelions when dandelions are considered to be a weed. No doubt dandelions can be eaten but the question arises as to why anyone would want to maintain a field of dandelions. What could be the use of such a vast quantity of these flowers that are considered to be weeds? Any answers? Do you grow dandelions? Image credit:

Dandelions grow like this on their own, and I remember you doing a discussion about this some time ago. No one plants dandelions in this country at least. They grow like crazy, and the wind whips the seeds in empty fields, and they just grow uncontrollably. You just can’t get rid of those sucks without weed killers, and people with empty land don’t care enough to spend the money to get rid of them. It is easy as pie to get fields like the one in your picture. There was a plot of land behind my house growing up, and the owner did not do anything with it. He’s mow intermittently, but eventually got sick of it, and just let the dandelions go crazy. It looked like your picture.

Could have and did you respond there too? Anyway not many would have read that post if there is one. What is strange is the field has nothing else but dandelions and that explains how it devours other weeds
