My new TV will be here this afternoon, a week ahead of schedule! Yay! I can go back to watching my programs.
I had a shocker yesterday. Received a questionnaire to fill out for Jury Duty. I served on a jury for a case about 15 or so years ago and haven't heard anything since. I can claim disability; but they want an answer within 3 days; and you must get a note from your doctor. I think that's a little bit unreasonable; but I will see what I can do. Never expected to be called at the age of 75!
The Pantone Color Institute has named "Peach Fuzz" as its color of the year for 2024.
102 days until spring!
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - BBQ chicken breast, baked beans, spinach, corn, corn muffin and peaches
Dessert/Snack - Donut
Dinner - Peanut butter and jelly sandwich
What did you eat yesterday?

I have always wondered why they make it so difficult to get out of jury duty. If you are disabled, claim disability that should be sufficient without having to get a doctors note. Hope that it works out for you. Peach Fuzz for a color, I never knew there was such a thing as naming colors for a year. Learn something new today
Yesterday we had boiled eggs for breakfast and spaghetti for lunch/dinner.

Yes, the disability was through the government; so I would think they had record of that. I don't know!

I would think they would let you off jury duty. Maybe they think people are more honorable as seniors.

@LindaOHio Yes, I am familiar with Pantone. Their Pantone Matching System (PMS) is used in several industries, notably graphic design, fashion design, product design, printing... We used their palette when my husband designed Web Sites.

Here, winter has just arrived and you are already counting your days for Spring. Three days is a very short period, but I hope that you can work it out. It would be good if it goes in your favour.
Congratulations! On your new TV arriving much before the scheduled time.

@LindaOHio Oh! I see. But winters are long there in your corner. Stay warm. I hope that it's kind this year and the mercury doesn't drop much

That's great about your TV getting there that soon.
That does sound unreasonable for the Jury duty thing. Here you can just put down you want out of it if you are 75 or older, I believe.
Not sure about that color!

That certainly is way too fast to expect a result from you. I got called for jury duty when I was 25, and still today, my dad has never been called, and he is 68. Neither has my sister or her husband. I just expected more people I know to be called. I guess I'll add you to my list now!

@shaggin That information will be on the questionnaire I have to fill out. Enclosed will be the doctor's note that they requested. I should get it on Monday or so. Enjoy your Sunday.

I already served on a case about 15 years ago; and I'm unable to walk from the car to the courthouse, etc. I'm hoping they understand and let me off.

I am still on call for jury duty until Jan 7, but so far haven't had to report, and I don't think I am going to have to.

Call and ask for an extension to get the disability proof.

I served on a jury three or four years ago. If it's been four years, I'm eligible again. I found it interesting.
I hope you can get the note from your doctor.
Your food looks good. I hope the chicken wasn't dry.
Yesterday's breakfast wasn't standard. I made eggs with celery, onion, shredded cheese, and a baked potato. For lunch, I finished the skillet turkey casserole I made the day before. I added a little more cheese and a little milk to it. It was great over a potato. The snack was DC Dove Promise candy. The scale was good this morning.

I served on a child abuse case which was quite stressful. I would serve again; but I just can't do the walking.

Jury duty is a funny thing with me. I have never been called. My wife is currently serving grand jury duty. My brother in law has served twice. What I have surmised is that "they" know my politics and opinions since I have a large presence, and have for many years, on the Internet blogging and writing opinion pieces and editorials for other websites over the years. I do think they look into stuff like that before a name is selected to even consider participation. But I could be wrong. But I can't think of any other reason I'd never been called.
For dinner, and I almost forgot to include it so had to go back and edit this; I had some leftover braised pork steaks so I cut it up and made it into a pork fried rice stir fry.

I agree with you. I was a manager and they have called me twice. My husband was a laborer; and he's never been called. I think your background has a lot to do with it.

@LindaOHio Probably does. There has to be a reason for it and it's the only one that makes any sense to me.

Hope you don't have to go for Jury Duty.
