Nothing like yo-yo weather to make you remember why you loved living in Florida and Hawaii so much. My bones were aching yesterday with the cold, and now it’s gone…but it’ll be back on Sunday with the drop in temps. No wonder I’m enjoying playing Jimmy Buffett this month! Here’s today’s song. Cowboy in the Jungle This song reminds me a lot of “Banana Republics.” Not musically, but thematically. Another case of an expatriated American, this time “stuck in Puerto Bello since his money all ran out” on the way to Paraguay. That doesn’t mean it’s a carbon copy of the Goodman song. No, it has its own quirks (“their husbands quack about fishing as they slug those rum drinks down”) and great lines (“and still 24 hours, maybe 60 good years, it’s really not that long a stay”). This came from the album that produced “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” As I’ve said before, this is more my style of Jimmy Buffett music.
