Socks Anyone?

I have all kinds of socks. Ankle to midcalf alike. In the winter months, I am extremely fond of them. I have found that two pairs I wore last winter have worn out finally. One has a big hole in the two. This after darning it again and again. I'm afraid it is time to put them in the rag bag. Cut them down one side and I can use them as a rag for a while. I do try to recycle and reuse things as best I can. Do you do this? Re-cycle, reuse, redo. The picture is from my collection.

Yes, I've always recycled whatever I can, and being third in a family of five kids... well, handmedowns...

I like those Christmas socks you have displayed. After all, a fireplace isn't just to keep warm. I do reuse and recycle items. Worn out socks make for great cleaning rags.

I use socks with holes as rags too they work great for cleaning things. I have toe nail fungus though so I have to bleach the socks, wash clothes and towels I use and the bleach causes the socks to stretch out. I’ve begun buying them very small so after a few washed they fit well and hopefully won’t be so big. They look like clown socks after awhile they stretch out so big I hate it.

I buy larger than I need because my ankles are too big and I hate them to be tight around the ankles.

I have only a couple of different socks for my workout. When they get dirty, I just have them washed and wear them again. Not interested in having new types. I wear them until they are completely worn out.

What I can't wear anymore, I donate if it's in good condition. Enjoy your Sunday.

Yes, and I have all kinds of socks too. Some last really well, others not so much. I remember mom or maybe grandma having a mop that you could clamp a bunch of old socks at the top and use them to replace your string mop.

When my socks get a hole anywhere I just threw them away.
