Great Thrifty Find

We tend to change out a lot of our decorations throughout the house for Christmas, and I was looking for some coffee mugs to replace what's usually on the mug sign in the kitchen since our kitchen is a coffee theme.
We had gone to Ollies in Granite City and of course the wife wanted to look around the Goodwill store there. I always go to what I call "the junk." Sometimes I find something useful. But mostly I just like to browse and see what trinkets and things people have donated.
Most of it really is just junk.
But I did find something this time, and it was just what I was looking for. Some Christmas mugs that were small enough to fit on my mug sign in the kitchen and make it more Christmassy.
I thought they were a bargain too at just $1.42 per cup, so being it was a set of four, and four was exactly what I needed, I bought them all. $5.68. And of course, when Christmas is over these will be added to the Christmas totes we keep and be used again.
I like them. What do you think?

Great find Jim. Perfect for the holiday season. And it’s funny that you mentioned that your kitchen is coffee themed, because so is mine!

@porwest Roosters you say? When I was setting up my coffee theme, owls seemed to be the big thing.

I always get teased because I am not a coffee snob, and you will be more likely to find a can of Beaumont or Chase and Sandborn than a fancy bag of expensive stuff in my house.
It was funny, when we were getting into our "theme," it was hard at the time to find coffee stuff. Roosters were ubiquitous for some reason.

@moffittjc Hmm. Interesting. I don't recall seeing any owl stuff.

Goodwill here is too overpriced. Most of them are priced about the same as the stuff would be new. There are a few bargains still to be had at Goodwill, but mostly we go to other thrift stores.
They are cute though.
Although Dollar Tree always has Christmas mugs, and they would of been cheaper. LOL

@porwest Ours just must be well stocked lol.
We just went to one a little while ago because I needed some shampoo and were on a strict budget.

They make a nice addition to your Christmas decor. I find that Goodwill has become too expensive. Do you have a Salvation Army store around you? I don't know how their prices are. Have a good week.

@porwest That's a shame. Our SA store is bright and clean.

Goodwill certainly has gotten higher in price. Not sure why that is. I do know they have hired "valuators" or whatever they call them to try to better investigate the value of donated items and that may be one reason. There is a Salvation Army nearby and I have been in there a few times, but not recently, but I have never been impressed with their stores. Just dirty to me.

@LindaOHio I wish I could say the same about ours. I'd probably go there more often. Honestly, though, I have never seen a bright and clean SA ever.
