What a treat!

Yesterday, my dad dropped by for a few minutes on his way to a meeting, and brought a treat I had not had since I was seven years old. It was a salted, dark chocolate, caramel covered apple, and it was huge! Apparently, an acquaintance he had helped sent a couple of them from a chocolate shop to his home, and he brought one to me (he is watching his sugar so he did not eat one). It was so large I couldn’t eat it all in one sitting. The salted dark chocolate covered the layer of caramel, and oh, it was such a treat. I only wish I had taken a picture! When was the last time you had a treat you simply hadn’t had in years?

@AmbiePam yea they can scold some 1 that doesn't know what it can do to them but not think to tell the person what to do on how to control it & that's not right.

Was the apple baked? The only thing I can think of that I get to eat what I used to as a kid are the ber fruits that grow on the tree touching my gate.

No, it is just a regular apple, and they put it on a stick. It’s absolutely delicious.

What a nice treat, your Dad is so generous. We had a ham a few weeks ago, something that I haven't had in years, it was like a treat to me because after eating it I didn't suffer a headache, which was the reason why I stopped eating it to begin with.

Do you think it was the salt content that gave you a headache?

@AmbiePam Yes, that and the age that it affected me, which was just as I started menopause but did not really realize it at the first.

@AmbiePam That is awesome. I would love that too. I think the one thing I miss from all those years ago is popcorn balls. I always got at least two during Christmas. They would be in the treat bag after the Christmas pageant, and one other time. I can't eat anything like that anymore. No teeth. I need a full set of choppers to eat popcorn balls or apples.

@AmbiePam I love apples like but do not eat them now. Since I have been on my weight loss journey I gave up things like that and snacks. Now, I just drink in between meals. It was probably about 6 years ago I hate stuff like that. I used to love snacks and treats like that. Enjoy it. I also do not eat apples anymore because they do not agree with me so gave them up along with other things.
