It's flu season again

I don't like winter for this reason. When it's cold there are viruses and we have flu several times. My mom has a cold and I think I will get it too. I am not sure if it's the flu, but she takes medicine for the flu. The weather is weird. We have rain instead of snow. I am not sure how can I avoid the flu. My mom is a nurse and she brings all viruses at home. She can't avoid them.

Oh that’s too bad she brings things home to you but yeah nothing either of you can do. I hope you don’t catch this and that she feels better soon.

Thank you. We can't avoid viruses. We both take vitamin C. I hope it will help.

Same here, we have rain and not snow and today is also high winds. I am sorry that your Mom brings viruses at home.

Do you have snow when Christmas comes? We usually have rain on 25th December.

@LadyDuck Here we didn't have snow when Christmas came. I hope this year we will have some snow.

I guess all you can do is wash your hands a lot, ingest a lot of Vitamin C, and take something as soon as symptoms arrive. I know how being physically sick drains a person, especially the flu.

I am taking vitamin C. I think that this is the best and it helps a lot. I tried ginger too. I read that ginger improves our health in different ways.

The truth is, you can't. Viruses are everywhere. All you can do is protect yourself the best you can.

@dya80dya No matter what you do, you can still catch a bug. Masks don't protect you from catching something. They barely prevent you from spreading something.

It's true. And we can have more than a virus. I am wearing a mask inside my home. I am washing my hands a lot, but I feel that I have symptoms now.

I completely understand your concerns, especially during flu season. It's challenging when your mom works in a profession where exposure to viruses is higher. Any specific remedies or practices that have worked well for you in the past? Stay well!

@dya80dya Absolutely, Vitamin C can be a great ally during the flu season. Have you found any specific sources or forms of Vitamin C more effective. I can't breathe when I intake Vitamin C with rosehip

Vitamin C is very useful. It was in the past so useful that I had mild flu. I hope it will work this time too.

@dya80dya I can imagine her being around sick people that you do not catch something from what she brings home. I got my flu shot and my corona shot already. When I get the flu shot I never get the flu but when I do not get the shot I do get the flu. Winter is our rainy season in Jerusalem so we have sunny days and days it rainy days too.

@dya80dya I was ok when I got both shots on the same day. I never get the flu when I get the shot. You are right about too many viruses.

The flu shot is a good idea. Do you have a cold instead of flu when you have the flu shot? Even with the flu shot, I had several colds and they lasted a lot of time. There are too many viruses.

Did you get a flu shot? That would help you avoid the flu I am sure.

Yes, we have cold meds. Thank you for praying. Cold medicine helps, but it causes nausea. I have some symptoms, but they come and go. I am not sure if I am sick, I think that my body is still fighting this virus.

I cannot stand cold weather either since either my back goes out or I have pain in my right elbow from the cold weather.

Do you prefer summer? I can't stand very cold or very hot weather. They both make me feel sick. Do you have a health issue that is causing pain in your right elbow? Or does cold weather cause pain?
