The news item attracting the most attention in Australia at the moment is the quashing of the conviction of a woman once dubbed as the nation's worst female serial killer.
Kathleen Folbigg had convictions of three counts of murder and one of manslaughter. She was sentenced when she was 36 and has spent 20 years in jail where she says she was subjected to every type of abuse. The four children died as babies or toddlers between 1989 and 1999.
New medical and scientific evidence has led to Kathleen being pardoned by the state of New South Wales. Although not mentioned in the current news report, it was previously stated that genetic incompatibilities were in part responsible for the deaths.
Can you imagine losing baby after baby, then being wrongfully convicted of their deaths? It’s a wonder she is still standing.
The photo is of our two sons. The youngest turns fifty next August.

It is so so sad when someone was framed or set up or wrongfully accused of something they did not do and have to serve time in prison and lose all those years for nothing. So you have a birthday to celebrate in August for him. That is something to look forward to.

My brother and his wife lost their second and third babies to SIDS. So glad that no one decided to prosecute.

That is sad that she was jailed for such a long time for something she did not do. Hope she can live a good life after being released.

I'm sure she's not the first nor the last. It's always good to hear of such an outcome though.

Yes I saw that Judy..how wrong they were for doing this to her.
And what they did to her while she was inside..horror and inhumane.

It is very sad for the innocent accused. If the woman had not been guilty it is injustice done to her

Poor woman. Losing the children was bad enough without being accused of killing them

That is such a sad story and horrible that she had to suffer losing her babies and then spending 20 years in jail.

To lose four babies would have to seem very suspicious but it's good the truth has come out now.
