I am amazed that a male cat named Coco who resides in Newfoundland Canada did jump off of a utility pole on Monday December 4. 2023 and landed on his feet without suffering any serious injury from the fall. Alice Reid who is the owner of Coco was filming the attempted rescue of her cat by a utility worker from the same city attempted to rescue Coco who is a three year old tabby cat when Coco jumped off of the utility pole down to the ground. The funny thing is that Coco went back inside of the home of his owner who was amazed to learn that her cat was not hurt in the fall after a neighborhood dog chased Coco who found refuge aboard a utility pole. Alice is going to punish Coco by keeping him inside her home since Coco is an indoor cat. I guess even cats have guardian angels to watch over them as well as humans. Well, you know what they say. Cats do have nine lives. Coco has proved the theory once again.

@celticeagle That is true since my cats are known for their leaping ability over another cat who is laying down on the floor.

Poor Coco, I am glad the kitty was not hurt after such a high jump.

@Deepizzaguy They can "land" on their paws, but they risk to get hurt when the place is too high.

@LadyDuck That is true since the impact of the fall is deadlier from the flight according to the Joker of Batman animated series fame.

I read about a cat who jumped off the Washington Monument..500 and some feet and survived the fall. They can really jump when they need to..although..some get fearful.

I know what you mean since my cats get scared just trying to climb a small tree when being chased by a dog.

Now that is highly unusual. Usually cats get stuck up there.

That is true since a huge fall from the top of a utility pole should have either crippled the cat or killed him.

I am in agreement with you since a cat jumping off a height from a tall utility pole could have been fatal or the cat suffer a serious injury.
