Alasdair Fraser who is a violinist is grateful that a fiddle that he owns that was stolen from his rent a car in Portland Oregon in mid November has been returned to him after Alasdair did ask for anyone who had possession of his instrument to please return it to him.
After Alasdair's post on Instagram was published, two persons returned the fiddle to the Southeast Portland David Kerr Violin Shop on Wednesday.
Employees of the violin shop realized the fiddle had been stolen since they saw the description of the instrument.
The employees did contact Alasdair to report to him the good news. Alasdair did take a flight to Portland from an unknown city to reunite with his instruments once again.
The police in Portland are in search of the crooks who stole the instruments from a parking garage in Portland.
Nice to know that a good person who has been making beautiful music for 40 years is reunited with his instruments once again.

My pleasure to share this wonderful story on this site since fiddlers are underrated as great musicians.

I wonder if he left his fiddle in plain sight in the rental car, as it would be a welcome invitation for would-be crooks, to fiddle with it. In any case, he will probably think twice before he leaves his fiddle alone like that again.

@Deepizzaguy Maybe they thought that it was a rare Stradivarius violin, but as he got it back, it probably was not one of those.

Probably what happened since Portland has a bad reputation for car break ins.
