Travel before or after the Holidays

Yes, airline tickets might have been booked earlier but with the weather changes people have been either cancelling their trips and reschedule it a month after the holidays. So, the question is, if the airline company announces a cancellation of the flight, what did you do? Did you get upset? Did you demand an on the spot refund? Aside from booking another flight in another airline company, what else did you do?
