Counting to ten before responding when angry is a common anger management strategy. This brief pause can help calm emotions, providing the necessary time to reflect before reacting impulsively. During this counting, one seeks to gain a clearer perspective on the situation and evaluate the potential consequences of their actions. It's important to note that everyone is different, and anger management strategies may vary. Some individuals may find counting to ten helpful, while others may prefer alternative techniques such as deep breathing or distraction. The common goal is to develop emotional management skills to respond more constructively in stressful situations. What are your thoughts? Do you have other techniques?

I do count to ten when I wake up early in the morning since I need to get my blood pressure checked on a machine. It does work in calming me down most of the time even though I need to count to ten slowly a few times and keep the television off since some of the shows feature characters who are angry over petty issues related to world events.

@Deepizzaguy Positive emotions can play a crucial role in combating stress. When we experience positive emotions like joy, gratitude, or contentment, our body produces chemicals that counteract stress hormones.
