Do You Like Shrimp?

There are thousands of species of shrimp adapted to a wide range of habitats. They can be found near the ocean floor and also in rivers and lakes. They usually live 1 to 7 years and are an important food source for larger animals from fish to whales. They are widely caught for human consumption; and shrimp farming has become big business.
In 1985 direct evidence was found dating shrimping off the southeastern coast of North America to 600 AD. Clay pots with shrimp decorations have been found in the ruins of Pompei dating back to the 3rd century AD.
I like lobster, crab, scallops and clam strips; but I just can't get over the texture of shrimp. That slightly crunchy texture really puts me off.
Do you like shrimp? How do you like them prepared?

@LindaOHio Shrimps are expensive here, I buy when they are on a special promotion. I hoped to see them before Christmas, I am glad I still have a two pounds bag.

They are very reasonable in our country. I wish I could learn to eat them. My husband likes, not loves, them.

I’ve never met seafood I didn’t like, including shrimp. I absolutely love shrimp! And I don’t necessarily have a particular preference for how they are prepared; it’s all good to me.
Most people don’t like scallops due to the texture, so it’s interesting that you like those but not shrimp.

Yeah, they farm them in abundance; and Red Lobster has about as many shrimp dishes as they do anything else; so I wish I could get over the texture issue.

@LindaOHio Of course, living here in Florida, shrimp is a main staple in our diets, since we can get it fresh!

I like shrimp. One of my coworkers raises little tiny shrimp that are neon colored, so she will not eat shrimp anymore.

I like all the seafood, including the shrimps. If I am in a hurry, then I will steam them as it is the easiest way to cook them. And we can also taste the shrimp's real taste. It will be easier to tell whether the shrimps are fresh or not in this way.

I’m allergic to it (and in fact, it was shrimp that pointed that out to me when I was 13 ).

Yes I like shrimp. It was one food that I didn't like as a child but grew to like as I got older. I like it broiled or grilled.

@LindaOHio I wonder if the salt in the salt water helps make it better because salty food like potato chips is better or if the salt adds taste adds extra taste or takes away what may taste like the lake? Just guessing!
