I was strolling with my friends in the Christmas market yesterday. Boy! The promenade where the Christmas market was held, was so full with people from all over the world.
I heard a lot of Dutch speaking people. I thought I was in The Netherlands, not in Germany. I heard a lot of other languages too like Polish, Turkish, Russian, Italian, Spanish and Tagalog.
Suddenly, I heard someone behind me calling, „Kababayan“ (a Filipino word which means countrymen). I turned around and saw a few Filipinos. We talked and they said they came from Belgium by bus just to see the Christmas market in Germany. They said, there were 5 busses coming from Belgium. No wonder the parking place was limited.
Well, it was a beautiful Christmas market. Plenty of Christmas decorations for sale and of course a lot of food, barbecues and mulled wine. The atmosphere was great.
Have you been to a Christmas market? Did you like it?

There were many wonderful Christmas markets in Riga, Latvia. I am just in the process of writing up a Christmas article about European Christmas Markets.

Sounds like a lot of fun. We don't have a Christmas market here. We once went to a Christmas store that is open all year around in Michigan. It was very interesting. Hope you have a good week.

Yes, it was fun @LindaOHio. I see. I think Christmas Market is a German thing. I have to find out where it was originated.
I hope you have a good week, too. Thank you.

Sometimes it is hard for me to tell if what I think is one thing here is the same overseas, but I do believe I have been to a Christmas market. However, I know without a doubt, it was nothing as spectacular at what is in Germany. What you describe sounds incredible.

I heard that there are lots of Christmas markets in England. I know also of Germans that went to London participating on a Christmas market there. They brought German Christmas products for sale. They were my clients in massage when I was still working. Thank you @RebeccasFarm and have a nice day.

The mix of languages and cultures must have created a truly magical atmosphere. And how heartwarming to hear someone call out "Kababayan" – finding a bit of home in a foreign land is always special. Cheers to joyful encounters and the magic of the season!

Not yet, but hoping to soon. I've got family in Holland who go all the time, might have been the ones you heard. Markets like that makes for good cheer!
