The 118th Congress has been the most unproductive in modern history

That is due to the fact that the chambers are split between the 2 parties--Republicans have the majority in the House while Democrats have the majority in the Senate. It also is due to the fact that the GOP house has had some massive infighting in the past year. The writing was on the wall when it took FIFTEEN votes to elect a Speaker of the House. Then some Republicans voted (along with the Democrats) to oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker. In between those 2 events you had Republicans threatening to shut down the government and not raise the debt ceiling. Only 20 bills have passed in both the House and the Senate and have been signed into law. In recent years when the Republicans have controlled one or both chambers with a Democrat president between 70 and 73 laws were passed. Huge difference. It is ridiculous. I hope voters are paying attention.
