It's not even close to Valentine's Day!

But today I saw this, when I went to pick up my son's meds. It's not Christmas Day yet, and there are endless displays of Christmas tree cakes, all sorts of Christmas treats and such and then...Valentine's Day cakes?? I am not a fan of these and never buy them, I think they are toxic. But I have been told by many people that the holiday cakes taste very similar to each other, each season. I do wish we could just celebrate ONE holiday at a time, don't you?

I went into Family Dollar this afternoon and they had their Valentines stuff out! No wonder people have short attention spans.. We’re not even enjoying this moment before something three months down the road is being flung at us!

My son said at the rate they are going, they will have Easter stuff out before New Year's Day! He may be right about that, but I do hope not. Like you say, enjoy the moment and each day!

@MarieCoyle — I’ll never forget that cartoon in The Family Circus that said, “today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present.” So true!

My grocery store sold out of the Little Debbie Christmas goodies before Thanksgiving, and their little section of shelves in the grocery store has been mostly empty for the past couple of weeks. So I don't blame stores for going ahead and putting out the next holiday's goodies. They need to fill the shelves with something! And apparently Little Debbie only makes so many of their holiday offerings, or else how could we explain why they can't replenish the Christmas goodies?

Don't you ever wonder just how much and what preservatives are dumped into those little things to make them appear ''fresh and squishy?'' Wait...never mind...I don't want to know. I see your point, but it still seems to that 2 months ahead of a holiday it too much...but maybe that's just me.

@MarieCoyle I agree, 2 months is way ahead of the game. Holiday treats should make their appearance a few weeks before each holiday.

We went to two different stores today looking for clearance items and Valentine Day stuff was already being put out.

My neighbor went to our local grocery yesterday, she said they suddenly had a bunch more Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes again. But they were out before Christmas. Yes, Valentine stuff is everywhere already.

I am glad that we do. Stores cannot display items of a coming holiday more than 40 days before the holiday. That seems a lot of time to me.

That would be more than enough time for me as well, Anna.

@MarieCoyle You have all the time to buy what you need in 40 days, even enough to get bored to see the same holidays stuff.

Those things taste so processed to me; I never touch them. It’s amazing how fast stores work to showcase “what’s next”. Let’s just enjoy the moment.

I try very hard to stay away from processed foods. In the case of Little Debbie cakes a person might as well just toss their money to the wind, they are horrible.

I went to Cost Plus World Market today . . . I could not believe there was one little Valentine's section to the side of all the Christmas stuff. Nope nope nope, I didn't even bother to look - I just couldn't. As for those sugary goo cakes, not my thing either . . . they are so cheap that you have to wonder what cheap ingredients they use - kinda scary actually!

Just reading thie ingredients is frightening. Might as well just take the cakes and simply apply them directly to your arteries and get it over with! No way. I’ve never been able to eat these types of junk. Swiss rolls, and I believe some other types of Little Debbie cakes, are banned in the UK, as well as many of the sugared cereals. Our country needs to stop putting so many chemicals in things. ''May cause cancer, but hey, buy it for your child!' might as well be put on the front of the packages. Ugh.

Merchants love to sell early so that you will buy now and buy later. It's much too early for Valentine's Day. Have a good weekend.

I don't understand the rush! But don't forget that we now live in a world with no patience, everything is now on the fast lane! The manufacturer, perhaps, wants to start making profit at the earliest. Anyway, it's Christmas season. No amount of valentine's cakes can take the shine.
