Alee comes through for me today. Why teaching piano is fun.

She is seven years old now, but I have been her teacher since she was four. We have worked on both guitar and piano. Today she decided to lie on the piano bench for awhile and give me a hard time. She told me she didn't like Bach's Minuet in G Major. I snarled.
But suddenly she rallied and played the Introduction to Beethoven's Fur Elise that I had taught her. I made her come with me to the Guitar Center printer and copy the first page of said piece after we found it in books Guitar Center sells. Of course she was delighted.
We worked on the piece, and she made me write "To Alee from Horse" on it. She put a smiley face on it and then demanded she write a similar smiley face on my hand.
This is the fate of music teachers who work with young kids. I will attach photo of her art work on my hand.
I hope you notice that my hand is reaching toward the left hand a-minor chord from Fur Elise, but that my thumb might fall short of the A note. Eh, no matter.
This kid may have a touch of ADHD and may be a pain in the neck sometimes. But I adore her.
I will attach a recording of Fur Elise if I can find one. I am learning it as I teach it.

I'm glad Alee has an interest in music, albeit when she's feeling "into it".

I love listening Fur Elise. It's cool and very nostalgic.
