A terrible commute

I went to my nephew’s 16th birthday today. Should’ve taken me about 2.5 hours via public transportation. Instead it took more than three hours. I left the house around 10:12am and got to the restaurant around 1:40pm. I had to be there at 1pm. My commute was supposed to involve walking and then a train and three buses. I got to the train station a little earlier than usual. My train never showed up. Had to walk to the first bus and wait for about 13 minutes for it instead of catching it further down with the train. Because of this the whole commute shifted causing me to be late. Thankfully the other two buses came within a few minutes of me getting to the stop or I would’ve been even more late. The buses were hot and overcrowded. And even though people could see buses were pretty full they still got on, pushing and shoving just to get on. Good thing I had a seat the second two buses so I didn’t have to deal with that. I hate it when people push and shove, elbow you, or stand on top of you, or you have no room to move.

That's horrible. Three hours constitutes a vacation trip. I'm so sorry you had to deal with crowded buses. I've had my share of them. I hope you got home OK. Enjoy your birthday celebration tonight!

It was more than three hours I think. Had another party after this one. Hubby’s cousin turned 10. We went to hibachi. He picked me up from first party so no more buses.

I sure hope after all that, they appreciated that you came. I also hope you enjoyed the time you were at the party though. Although, my blood pressure would have been way too high.

@RebeccasFarm some lady was wearing one and then complained telling people on an overcrowded bus to move so she can breathe. Where were they supposed to go lol?

No mask. Hate them. Party was good. And I got to stay for dessert. Thought I’d have to miss that because of the second party had to go to after this one. But hubby was able to get me.

What a horrible experience. I also hated people pushing on buses, it happened all the time in Milan.

@lovebuglena This is a shame, they crowd the public transport and do not even pay.

One guy opened back door and let people come in. You are not supposed to enter through the back. Pay in the front. These people got in the back which means they didn’t pay.

@LadyDuck you’d think they’d pay at least before leaving the bus but no. And bus drivers don’t say anything often enough.
