A Rolled Pork Roast is in the Pot

Well, it's in the crockpot. It's one of those rolled pork roasts with the strings around it. I bought it a couple of months ago at a steal and finally decided to cook it. I always cut the strings off before I put it in the crockpot simply because it's just more of a pain when you cook it that way to get the strings out later.
And it never falls apart.
I only seasoned it with a little bit of onion powder and garlic powder, then tossed in a packet of turkey gravy mix and ranch dressing mix, cut up some potatoes and onions and threw that in there and voila!
It should be a delicious dinner. What's going your table tonight?

We already had a christmas lunch with sausages and salads. The sausages were done on the barbecue by the boys and I made the salads. Tonight we will have another barbecue but this time we will have thick steaks and pork ribs in it. I think that we will have to boil more potatoes.

@porwest I had to read the word kielbasa online. And I´m sure that I´d like it. There are lots of sausages of Spanish origin that are very similar.

@marguicha Yeah, kielbasa is a good one. But of course, all kinds of sausage are delicious. I am sure I have had some Spanish ones as well.

That sounds yummy. I got a crockpot for Christmas and it should be really convenient when or if I ever get that foot surgery.
Happy New Year!

@porwest No, I've had two, but not in a while. I plan to cook some venison cubes with potatoes, carrots, and celery soon.

@1creekgirl Mmm. That sounds very good. Honestly, even though I don't use it as often as I would like to, I am not sure I could live without a crockpot.

I'm a couple of days late to this discussion. Hmmm....what did I eat on Christmas Eve? Oh yeah, I volunteered to work until 8:00pm so that another one of my employees could get an early start on his travel plans to see his family. I mostly snacked on sweets throughout the day, and don't really think I ever sat down to eat a dinner meal. No, wait, I did have some hot honey chicken wings.

@porwest They didn’t pay me extra, but I did use it as leverage to get a few extra days off for my Disney vacation. And they provided us a nice dinner. I count that as a win.

We are having rotisserie chickens and sides. We need to pick up a pork roast for New Year's Day. Merry Christmas to you and the wifey!!! That's a cute little piggie.

@porwest He's much too cute to eat. My husband would be visualizing it on a spit. :-(
