My Christmas tree this year.

Good afternoon from this side of the planet. It's cold day here( cold breeze is there) and most part of the day has been cloudy. The Sun peeps out of the cloud from time to time.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope that you all are having a good time this Holiday with your friends and family.
My elder daughter has left today morning. We wished to have her for Christmas and New year. But then not all happens as we wish.
Being Hindu, we don't celebrate Christmas. But then the best part of staying in a country like India is that there is always celebration mood and people do celebrate festivals from other faiths too. So, this tradition of putting up the tree was started by my elder daughter when she was three. She wanted a tree similar to her Catholic friend. . And since then we have kept the tradition alive.
Yesterday, we were awake till late night enjoying Christmas Carol ( my elder one played guitar and younger one sang), eating plum cakes and some good food. This was all last minute celebration before she left at 3AM in the morning.
OceanTiarra@RebeccasFarm wanted to have a look at my Christmas tree this year. So, I post this picture of our tree lighted up with decorations last night
Hope that all is going well in your corner. Stay Happy and Healthy. Enjoy the festival

Thank you Rebecca. My daughters love to decorate the tree. They will get into silly fights and arguments, giggle and bond over while decorating the tree.
Merry Christmas. Even a quiet Christmas is a nice plan. Enjoy your movie. Even I am waiting for my husband to finish his stuff( he is busy with some online video teaching financial things) so that we can watch a movie together.
Today was cloudy for most part of the day and a bit cold. I think that that's the typical Christmas weather here.

Wow that's a wonderful Tree !
We also keep Christmas trees but this time we have not got any new ones.
There are already a lot of other expenses!
We had a Christmas Eve of Tea, Plum cake and a few more things.
And today was Coffee plus Cookie and Bread time.
Back to normal things from tomorrow.
I can understand that you would be missing your Elder daughter today but well, as you said that we cannot control everything.
Here it is 22 to 24 C in the Day time but it gets cold in the night to around 9 to 11 C.
(It had dipped to around 4 - 5 C a few days back).
Have a great time ahead !

Yes now a few of my leaves will begin.
One was in tbe verge of getting cancelled or postponed but I managed to avoid that.
But yes, a few things have not been so cordial but sometimes we cannot help !
Even I have so many pending personal works plis a few plans for some new personal initiatives.

Your Christmas eve sounds good with tea and plum cake. I have not bought any new tree. This tree is almost 10 years old when we moved back to India. I have been using the same each year and it's good to go for more years. It's the same decorations too. We have changed the light few years back when the earlier one stopped working.
My elder daughter reached her hostel last evening and was happy to see her friends. They want their friends more than home and parents at this age. They celebrated Christmas in their hostel with cake cutting
Have you not taken any break? My husband had few leaves pending and he has clubbed them together to take a week long break. As such his work load is less during this time. He is using the holidays to rest and finish few personal stuffs. So, we still find him sitting with his laptop for few hours each day. His financial planning, medical checkup and few things around the house are on hid holiday agenda

Thank you. I am going to rest for the rest of the evening. I am quite tired with all the cooking and celebrations yesterday. I made some home snacks and packed it for my elder daughter to carry it to her college. My younger one will go with her friends to the Christmas fair downstairs.

We bought it. The decorations were bought along with the Christmas tree. It was more than a decade back. And they are kept safely after the festival and come out every year..
We all love jubilant mood and celebrations. So, having any reason to celebrate is welcome in our family

@arunima25 So true and it’s so exciting to see the pretty decorations. I put up fairy lights on our lanai, but they can stay up beyond the holidays and up to the day we leave Florida.

@DianneN Even we let the lights stay from a week before Diwali to end of January or even more. We switch them on whenever we feel like. Else the electricity bill would be a bomb.
