I slept in this morning and will be heading to my friends' house later in the day. It is sunny and cool here--a nice California day. I will try not to be a Humbug today. I look forward to making my Top Secret Salad for the dinner we will be having. Photo is of one of my dear friends enjoying what may have been her second Christmas in Santa's lap a few years ago. Ho ho.

Merry Christmas!! Sunny and cool sounds cool !! I forgot the meaning of Humbug. Could you share the meaning again? Here the nights are cold around - 9 to 11 C bjt days are around 23 to 24 C - not as cold as 25 December days of a few previous years. So we could have a colder early January ahead! A nice picture but the small child definitely wants to her parents.

It is from Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. Scrooge said it a lot before the "three spirits" visited him and converted him. I played Marley's Ghost in our Fifth Grade rendition of the play.

I'd cry too if I had to sit on Santa's lap. Hope you enjoyed your day. I love the Christmas holiday season, but I will admit that I'm glad it's finally over!

Cute photo. Santa looks like either a very young boy or a woman. In my first husbands side of the family many many years Santa was played by the one aunt wearing her very pretty engagement and wedding ring sometimes necklaces as well.

SIGH as always I manage to get through Christmas but it depends this year has been a borderline one meaning then I do not watch Christmas movies they only make me cry even the funny ones seeing everyone together and having fun. Now I am still faced with New Year's Eve and then facing 2024.

I never understood the cruelty of obliging babies to sit on Santa lap, almost all young babies hate this and they are scared. I hope you enjoyed your salad and your Christmas day.

Even my younger one was scared of Santa till she was ten. She would cry loud to spot one and not go near to Santa. This child reminds me of her. . My elder one loved Santa. I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas.
