I gave myself a Christmas present

A year and a half ago, I bought a refurbished Chromebook. They were easy to use and I added a 2 year repair contract to it. Problem was, the repairs don't include Google putting an "expiration" on their Chromebooks that render them unable to update. This one had already reached that point. *sigh*
I continued to use it because I could still get into Ancestry and FamilySearch. Then I stopped being able to get into Ancestry or onto the mail order sites I use most frequently. I was less and less happy with it as time went on.
Then I went on to Walmart just for fun to see if they had any refurbished Windows computers. They had one desktop that I wanted, but my daughter put a stop to that since we already have too many things on top of other things. I agreed, but I still want one. But, I did see they had Windows laptops with varying hard drive sizes. One was 1 terabyte, which would be great, but I opted for a 500 gigabyte instead because of price. It was delivered on December 16. I've been using it ever since. But, I am considering contacting the seller because it won't hold a charge even18 hours. I need to keep it plugged in. That shouldn't be.
Still, I'm glad it got it. It has a larger screen than I've had before which makes it much easier to see (old eyes getting older by the second). If I call them, I'll try to come back with whatever resolution I get (even if they don't resolve it).
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and that you have a wonderful New Year!

The main thing you have something you love. Most windows machines are known for poor battery life.
